Not too long ago my buddy Mudd surfaced with a new-to-him longbow.  It is a Hill style built by Chuck Jones called "Osage Royale".

His ranting about it on the Hill thread about being the absolute "sweetheart" caught my attention and held it for about two months.  He actually shot it so well that he shot through the ring of a pull tab more than once at 12 yards.

Well, last week he got lucky and found one and snagged it for me – for a song - ...and 57#@27"...about 9# heavier than his bow, perfect for me..

What a blessing!!  What a buddy!

I am still in China and now there is another bow that is calling me home!

Hopefully the Muddster will fill in the blanks here with some pics.

Introducing the Royale Brothers...ROI and ALE

Mudd

My part..lol

I talk with Tony almost twice a day via Yahoo Messenger and during these talks Tony being the engineering type has more questions(technical and otherwise) than any kid I know...lol

Much of time I think I frustrate him with my answers. The most common one being "I don't know"..lol

I am not the best detail oriented person there is so it easy to see where he would have cause to get frustrated.

Anyway I had been singing the praises of my plain Joe bow "ROI" Osage Royale 66" 52@28 made by Chuck Jones.(I still do to anyone who will listen)..lol

Tony had expressed a desire to maybe give one a try some day.

Well with all the rain we've been having around here I've had some extra time on this computer thingy and one day I so exactly what he would need. Another Osage Royale 66" 57@28 and in real nice shape for not a whole lot of money.

I immediately sent him an e-mail asking if he wanted me to act as his agent.

Well here's what Tony bought without seeing or shooting personally.(that's trust folks!)...lol

I am only hoping that Tony is as impressed with his bow "Ale" as I am...lol

Tony, you have a lot of shooting to do when you get stateside - from your PMs I know that you are eager.

Mudd, Mr. Roy, you are a friend in deed!  I bet you and Tony will spin a lot of yarns once he gets to your place.    ;)

That's what friends are for. Mudd's rave review of his bow pushed me to order a crocodile that will be here soon! Congrats Tony, on a wonderful bow and a wonderful friend!

Mudd

I have Tony's bows and new Bison Gear bag all packaged up and ready to ship to home state so they'll be waiting for him when he steps foot back into Michigan.

I'm gonna miss these two bows. They are both sweet shooters. I'm glad I could shoot them while they were here.

Shoot them I did..lol Both are at the top of my weight limit but  both got easier to pull as time went along.
One is a Howard Hill Halfbreed 69" and in the upper 50"s @28 and the other is this one, Osage Royale 66" 57@28.

I only wish I had some arrows to send along with them...lol

I bet it won't take Tony long after he's back to find something to fling out of them.

Can you imagine not picking up a bow for 3 years and be as crazy about archery as Tony is?..lol

I have been doing my best to help him live vicariously through me this last couple of months.

Thanks to Yahoo Messenger we talk at least once a day and most days a couple of times.

When I'm waking up Tony's winding down for the day and when he's getting up I'm the one dragging my tail..lol

I do admire the man though, he's sure giving every thing he's got to be ready. Made himself an exercise tool by bundling bamboo into a bow of sorts and using some sort of flexible wire as his string. Very creative mind of an engineer..lol

Here's Tony, Hua and Kai and one of Kia becoming one of "Mudd's Merry Men".

Mudd, Howard, and Tony! This is a photo for the ages!!!....or maybe for the "aged"

Sure do!  And have many good people to visit.
I appreciate all of you help on the bags and glove info!  With any luck, I'll be able to hit the swamps and ridges armed and accurate.
