Try different point weights and arrow lengths.

Be conservative on arrow length and only cut off 1/4 to 1/2 inch at a time.

Also you might wanna try different fletch sizes and orientation.

Maybe 4 fletch at 4 inches or 3 fletch at 5 or 5 1/2 inches. etc.

Do I try all these different things and just see how it flys, or what am I looking for? Also my bottom feathers are thinning out fast, is this normal? Another great day shooting, put a couple 12 inch groups at 30

You are supplying little information about your rest, but I would look to that and your nocking points. Glad to hear that your groups seem to be improving. That certainly makes it more fun!

I decided I'm going to redo my rest. I was thinking about getting the "bear hair" rest for 6 bucks at a local archery shop. I shot the last 2 days with my felt and bump, and I've already worn down to the finish of the bow.  Can someone maybe direct me to an instructional thread or something with pictures on how to make a good velcro rest?  My second time out today I showed up my 13 year old brother with his compound at 30! Bearhair is good!
If you go with velcro, use the fuzzy side, not the stiff plasticky hooks side.
Calf hair is also good, or thin leather like cordovan.

The Bearhair is adhesive-backed, and some velcro is as well. If using something that isn't backed, use Barge or some other contact cement, as it removes fairly easily and will not damage the finish of your bow.

I bought a new bow off ****.  It had a raised arrow rest, which I didn't want to use.  So, I took a very narrow strip of velcro with sticky back and put it directly above the furthest inset of the grip.  Than I used another piece of velcro across the entire shelf.  That way my velcro is slightly raised where I want it.  ... If you use velcro, use the fuzzy part... works good.

If you're getting that much shelf wear and your bottom feathers are thinning, I would raise the nock point. Try about one-half inch above square. I also use industrial velcro on the shelf and strike plate, and if arrows are tuned it lasts for thousands of shots.

Not to down put a shelf rest, I gotta say that Trap's feather rest is DA BOMB!!
