Having knee replacement in a couple of weeks and have decided that I will stay grounded this deer season. Really looking hard at the pac seat but after extensive searching can't really find an answer to this question.

Without modification...does the front seat bar dig into the back of your legs with normal setup?

Iv heard good things about the seat and was thinking about getting one myself but they are pretty proud of them $ wise.

I used mine this spring for turkeys and love it. The bar does not dig into the legs at all. It's like sitting in a lounge chair - very comfortable.
I strapped a pack to my chair and it works great. Carries well and I have everything I need.
Yes they are pricey, but after using it I am very happy that I took the plunge. High quality and very well made.

no problem with mine    great seat! The best I've ever used with over 30 years ground hunting for deer.

I have one as well and used it during turkey season.Used it both in and out of a blind.As Whip said it is also real easy to strap a pack to and take off.No doubt the most comfortable seat I have ever used.

Used mine a couple times last Fall, very comfortable, very adjustable for ground levelness. Works well in a DB blind, also.

I have been looking at one of these for a bit but just can't seem to pull the trigger to order one.....I have heard good things, not one thing negative. Dave, good luck with your knee surgery, do the rehab when your done and you will be as good as new.....ron w

I have one too and love it for all the things mention above.  My only complaint (more an improvement issue) would be to quiet down the strap connection points mine will tink* when I walk if not careful.  The pin release setup allows for some metal on metal contact and does and can make some noise while moving with the seat, that being said once set up just move the straps out of the way and your good to go.  I'm a QA inspector so I tend to be more critical sorry guys         ALso there a thread on here about improving the seat for lumbar and adding a swivel seat to it and it looks like it would make the seat into a lounge chair, be like floating in the cloud zzzZZ. I've had deer within 8 yards of me while sitting backed up to a blow down but the only shot she would give was the Texas heart shot and I couldn't/wouldn't take it.

I just realized that my original 3 word reply doesn't do the Pac Seat justice.

I really love mine for all of the stuff already mentioned.

If I found a draw back, it was more the users fault than the chairs.

Being Mr Graceful I tried to cross a creek using a brush pile that had been stacked up by the high water we had a couple of weeks before hand.

Anyway I had my Pac seat all strapped up on my back and managed to fall into said brush pile flat of my back...lol

I looked for the world like a turtle that someone or thing had tipped it over on it's back....lol

I was sorta suck into the brush pile and found it real difficult to get it off with all the pressure on the straps. Rolling over was not an option or at least it wasn't in my predicament...lol

After a minute or so of struggling I got to wondering how long it would take my buddy to come looking for me.

That thought got me to laughing because I knew immediately that is exactly what Kenny would be doing if he ever saw me like this...lol

I guess that gave me even more motivation because I struggled extra hard to right myself by hooking my legs over limbs and using them to get me some leverage or turn over.

The stupid limbs kept breaking off under that kind of pressure but eventually I was able to take some pressure off the straps and wiggled one arm out of the back pack seat. Thereby allowing myself to sit up and turn over.

Nothing was hurt in any way, me included.

Next time I'll just find the shallowest part and wade though the creek..lol

I really like mine.

I like mine, too.  I used it on every hunt this past year. I have had to make some minor adjustments, but, overall, it's great.  It does make some noises, and I missed a little buck when my bow string caught on the chest buckle, which I didn't have clasped.

I'm still trying to sort out some storage for it. I currently have been using my Grandad's old WWII GI pack, but I think there are better solutions. I have a few ideas I'm going to try when I get the time.

I did have to apply some wax to the bars where the seat material attaches to eliminate some squeaking. In order for me to shoot out of it, I need to lean the seat up on the front leg.  It's easy to do, but sometimes the seat would squeak.  The wax stopped that.

Overall, it's been worth it.  My hunting buddy wants one badly.

Sounds like I had better start saving my Pennies again!!     It is a Pricey Purchse, BUT from the "Rave Reviews" it also sounds like Money Well Spent!
I know My Bum Left Knee doesnt exactly "Cotten" to standing too long in onespot!  :eek:

Guys thanks again for all of the insight. Left the doc today and replacement is going to happen on June 09. After many years of puttin up with "knee problems" just time to handle business    . I just know that when I'm sitting I gotta be comfortable or else I'm fidgeting badly. Wanted to make sure that the seat wouldn't bite into the legs. THANKS AGAIN!!.
