Anyone out there comment on these bows or give any explanation on how the bolt system works.  It looks like a screw with flat sides...So do you just screw it together until you reach the end of the threads?  Appreciate any input on this as I'm considering a trade option and wondered what others thought of the T/D bolt system.

Thanks,

You only screw it a quarter turn.  I had one and it worked flawlessly. I only parted with it b/c I went down in draw weight.

If you're looking for a two-piece take down you can't go wrong with at Toelke.

I think I have some pics if you'd like me to email them to you.

The screw has what is called interrupted threads. You push the screw into the socket and give it a 1/4 turn. This engages the threads on the screw with the threads in the socket and locks the two pieces together. Very secure and easy system. Been around for a long time. Disassembly is just the reverse. !/4 turn and pull.

I haven't had the chance to shoot a T/D Whip yet, but having met Dan Toelke I would guess that if it didn't work the way it shouold he would make it right.  I bought a bow from him for my wife and he spent quite sometime that day teaching her to shoot.  I could not imagine doing business with a finer man.

Thanks for the replies.  I've been curious about these for some time now.  Dan is mailing me a 3 Under tab out so I may as well throw a pic up in honor of his fine craftsmanship.  Here is the one on it's way.  60" 53@28.

Here is my list of Toelke Bows
2 TD whips, a 2-pc Takedown recurve and a 3pc with LB abd RC limbs on order.

The bow-bolt is my favorite 2-piece system because it requires no tools and the bow acts like a one piece when unstrung.

Only bowbolt drawback for some might be the extra weight (which I prefer), the need for phenolic in the riser, and the slight black line the cuts through the handle where the two faces meet.

The quest to improve is so focused on a few design aspects & compensating for hunter ineptness as to actually have reduced a bow & arrow's effectiveness. Nothing better demonstrates this than mech. BHs & speed fixated designs

Two TD Bow Bolt Whips and a one piece Whip here, can't go wrong with Dan's bows for sure.

Pretty bow.  Looks just like the one I used to have. Same specs, too. I sold it to Tim back in March.

I owned that one before, too. Dead quiet in the hand and no shock at all.  The quietest bow I ever owned or shot for that matter...
