What is the preferred method to attach a fish point to the fiberglass shaft?

I was thinking epoxy?

2-hr set and pinned...  drill a small hole thru the parallel portion of both after epoxy cures. add a dab of epoxy to the hole and drive a tight-fit nail or cold-rolled pin thru and peen the ends or grind/file flush.

Excellent. That is just what I needed.

I use only epoxy.
I found that pinning my shafts caused a weak spot in them.  After breaking several on rocks and Gator Gar I went back to only epoxy and have never, ever had a head come off.

If you are not going to pin heads (and I don't either), I would suggest 2-ton epoxy. The 5-minute kind doesn't hold nearly as well.

^This^

I've broken more pinned shafts than I've ever had heads come off. It's very rocky around the lakes I fish & the weak point where the head is pinned has let medown on several occasions.
Since I stopped pinning & use nothing but SLOW set epoxy (the slower the better) I've not lost a point or broken a shaft.

The longer the epoxy takes to set, the more flex, or "bounce" it has.  If you can find some, 24 hour cure is about the fest you can get, for epoxy.

I guess if we run into the bear that is making these tracks, we oughta just get off the trail.......He seems to like it!

Devcon 2-ton, or the same hot melt I use for my woodies!Never lost a point in almost 30 years,

I shoot mostly in ROCKY criks, for suckers, carp, and gar. Haven't done the big game fish "yet"!

If anything, I blow nocks off from the hard impact! Always carry nocks and some superglue, too!

Never pinned a point, have pinned a osage spliced bow, no real benfit there either!

Have a great time, James!
