What do you guys think about camouflage on your bows? I used some camo sleeves that fit over the limbs of my bow last season, and they didn't interfere with my shooting, but my strap-on quiver would always slip up and down. Kind of annoying, but not a deal breaker.

I've recently taken the camo off. (it is the off-season, after all). I really like the look and feel of the bow better without the camo, but I don't want my bow to spook game. What do you guys think? Is it important for the bow to be camouflaged, or will it not make a difference?

PS: I mostly tree-stand hunt for whitetails, if that makes a difference.

I know that camo doesnt need to be on my bows.I hunt on the ground and do not seem to spook the game. And besides that I could never ruin those good lookers I own and have coming!!!      

Unless its high gloss or shiney I agree with bowmarks.  Probably a bigger deal to us than the game!

Even a shiny bow won't matter. No camo.

You are in the woods with a stick. I don't think that camouflage is necessary.

I used some stick on leafy tape on a turkey hunt once.. It worked but i dont think its needed in most hunting situations.. But snakeskins look nice and its natures camo

I think as long as it not moving its just another stick in the woods.

I use limbskins more to protect the beauty underneath than to camo the bow. Movement is the big thing, critters will pick up on it if camoed or not.
But camo does add to the psychological overall effect sometimes for me.
I'm no expert on prairie hunting but have hunted the grasslands a couple of times. I would definitely camo my bow for that next time. I could see the glare off my hunting partners satin limbs from hundreds of yards away every time he shifted position.

I have camo tape on my high gloss Browning Explorer.  Can't bring myself to paint it, and Limbskins don't fit over the big riser mass "horns", but had to kill the shiney somehow.  Use my Martin Dreamcatcher and Bear Kodiak Hunter as is.

Yes we are in the woods with a stick ... usually a nice flat shiny stick.    

While hunting at the 1st annual ARROW last year my cousin ArkyBob walked up toward my ground blind. He didn't know where I was, just an idea. He found me by the reflection off my Shrew limbs.

Bob had used (and I now do, too) spray on black Plasti-Dip to lightly coat the limbs. It's not heavy enough to affect the bow and when you're finished for the season it just rubs/peals off with your fingers.

Unless my bow has really matte finish limbs, I'll be using the Plasti-Dip from now on.

Bows that don't move?  OK!

I saw one picture of a camo'd bow that I really liked. I've been unable to find it again. Some type of covering... would love to know what it was.

That Plasi Dip sounds like a great idea.

I've got a Bob Lee l/b in camo that I'm afraid to lay down in the woods,camo works and looks good on some bows but I prefer a matt finish.

I am convinced that I was busted by an elk that saw the glint of sun off of the gap between my limb covers and the riser, I will use some tape to cover that spot this year. Don't move, how do you not ever move? Mine is a constant battle to cover all the details so as to get that perfect shot in close. Still trying!

I always fidget. So I always either dull the finish or spray paint.

Love the looks of wood. Do not think the finish on a bow matters as long as it is not glossy. Movement is what get you. I had a cow and calf elk with in 5ft of me. Fir tree to my back, wind in my face and they fed right on by me. My bow was a 62" Pronghorn with a birdseed maple back. No camo for me.

I don't camo my bows but I do like the looks of a bow dipped in the camo film like Big Jim was doing.

Cept for some compounds that I HAD none of my bows were camo, don't see a need for it especially if the finish is a matted finish.

99 cent flat black does it for me and comes off easy too . Get a little goes a lo g way .

I have been hunting for many years with out the use of camo on my bows. But then, they have lost there gloss many years ago.
