For those of you who own one how do you like your KME?

Will the knife model work with broadheads too?

Thanks for the info

JimB

It is the best thing made, with the best customer service. The knife model will work with 2 blade broadheads and knives.

Gen273

Also what is best the Standard kit or the Diamond?

Thanks again!!

You should call and ask Ron for sure.I think he often recommends the stones and I understand he has a great ceramic stone now.Definitely call him.He isn't a hard sell and will steer you only to what you need.

smilinicon

Love it! I cut a draw file to size to use with it also.

I bought mine from Chris Surtees    :archer:   - standard stones.  It has worked very nicely on knives and 2 blade broadheads.  Consistent, even bevels.

Like JimB wrote, call Ron and explain your needs like what knife steel or broadheads you are wanting to sharpen.  He has always been helpful to me when I called.

I love my KME and yes it works great on two blade heads (Ace Standard, Bear Razorheads, etc.).

I have both the knife and broadhead systems. Use standard stones with each. Knife system works equally well on both. I only bought the broadhead system to keep in my travel arrow building/repair kit.
I don't see any need for the diamond stones unless you have a lot of metal to remove to establish your initial bevel. Standard stones work great and are all you really need.

Mine is the standard kit but recently ordered a xtra course diamond for hogging metal off badly damaged knives or setting a new bevel. Never used a diamond before, they will really cut fast. Just remember not to put much pressure on it or you will break the diamonds loose from the metal base they are electroplated to. KME is the most awesome tool on the planet IMHO.

I own the knife kit. I have both diamond and natural stones. It is by far the best sharpening system I have ever used. I use  mine on all my 2 blade broadheads and all of my knives.I get everything I sharpen shaving sharp. In fact my left arm is bald. All my friends in my fire department have me sharpening their knives and I recently sharpend all of the kitchen knives for our 2 fire houses. It is well worth the money and it's made in the USA

I have the broadhead sharpener but didn't get the kit.  I have tried both diamond and oil stones.  Each stones have their corks but work fine.  I have found that the stone sizes is the biggest factor.  The larger the better.

I damaged the blade jaws of mt KME knife sharpener due to my own carelessness. I sent the unit back to KME explaining what I did and they replaced the damaged jaws no charge a week later.

Wow Gang.  Thanks for all the kind words and responses.  I do believe ya'll have answered Charlies questions.  Great Customer Loyalty for sure.  If you have any more questions please give us a call.

Lin Rhea

I want to throw my vote in for the KME sharpeners. It's so good for seting the angles and holding true. I recommend them to my knife customers as well. Customer service is great.
