Look up the Clayton County Water Authority.

Jonesboro is in Clayton County.

The water authority owns quite a bit of land very close by to you and they have archery only hunts every season on it.

There have been quite a few Pope and Young bucks arrowed on that piece of dirt.

19 bucks... I'm spending about 10 times that just for licenses and permits- TO HUNT MY OWN LAND!! I gotta get outta here, Good Luck. Eat a Peach, (Allman Brothers rule in GA)

Yea when deer seasons starts it is still 90 degrees,so a thermalcell will be required and snake boots for the occasional rattler or moccasin, pre spray all your hunting gear withanti tick repellant since they will be thick also.welcome to the south, not that you know all the bad stuff still a great place to live.

Hey, we are neighbors.
Now get some camo shorts and have a tattoo artist start doing your legs in a camo pattern in  preparation for the archery season.
It gets too hot for real clothes.

I hope you get settled in real soon. I have been around  all the different nationalities  of our American folks, even a few good ones from Arkansas and Indiana but they don't come much better ones than those southern Americans from "Gawga".

The only warnings I've heard much about is that the "skeeters" down there would endanger the turkey population iffen they was grain eaters..lol

I'm sure glad to know that you finally got to move up in the world though.

Looking forward to reading about your new hunting situation and all around plaverings.

God bless,Mudd

Mudd, You`ve not lived till you eat catfish and grits on a sandbar early morning while watching a beautiful sunrise on the Ocmulgee River while you listen for pigs......Prolly the only thing better is eating the grilled backstraps that evening.RC

Enjoy! I was stationed there at one time and met my wife. Miss that deer season...nothing but air and opportunity out there for deer hunting. It will take awhile to acclimate to that southern drawl. I couldn't understand most of the folks I spoke with.....I didn't know I was dating my future wife for six months. I just thought she was really friendly. You will like it and the hospitality.

Guys thanks for all the good wishes.I am finally settled in and working to catch up on some unexpected expenditures.
I am looking forward to catching up and meeting up with some of you that are around my area.Someone has to teach me how to hunt pigs. Thanks again guys. Tim

I am located in McDonough.  Shoot me a PM if you want to fling a few arrows or chase some pigs.

Welcome to GA!
