I just picked one of these up for bowfishing and can't believe how it shoots!  I picked up the bow for about 150 less then one of my ILF risers and it shoots par to most of them after adding some aftermarket limbs!  Really thinking about cashing in some of the ILFs and picking up a few Dorado's.

Heck, I love mine with the stock limbs.

Had one, was a good shooter for sure but preferred a wood risor so I sold it.

I like the Dorado riser too, but I could never find a used one at a good price, and the Hoyt dealer told me that they could not order just the riser. So I went with the Hoyt Excel, I get a new riser alot cheaper than I can find a used Dorado bow or riser. Excels are ILF, so no changing hardware or sanding limbs either.  The 21 incher is 2 inches longer than a Dorado riser and now they even come in the blackout color. The best part, I can put some really good quality limbs on it.  As you have discovered Adam, these Hoyt risers will flat out shoot with the right limbs on them.

I agree!  just blinged up a LH Black riser with some Black Max carbons, I call her Black Beauty.  All I can say is this set-up is Sweet!

I also have a camo version that I converted a set of DAS Daala limbs with, both of these set-ups are great!

It seems that Hoyt has really developed a following among recurve shooters.  The last three years or so has really been good for Hoyt recurve bows.

The Dorado's and Gamemasters make the best bowfishing rigs out there. I have never used a tougher bow.

Wheels2, Hoyt really developed a following among recurve shooters in my area starting in the 1950's. I still have a 1957 Pro Hunter that my dad bought new ( has a leather wrapped handle like a longbow). I've always liked and shot Hoyt recurves.

I just bought a camo lefty Dorado (with 2 sets of limbs) from Stick Hunter on here....thanks again Chas!!

I was so exited, I went home and called our local bow shop who is a Hoyt Dealer. He was able to order me just a riser (a black one)straight from Hoyt for $259.

I have no idea why some shops get different answers than other on just ordering a riser, but mine will be here in 3-4 weeks!   :archer:

I've been wanting to try one of these for quite some time, and now I have two on the way.  Oh well, they cost only as much as I tell my wife they cost right?????
