What stringers do you guys reccomend? I got the other stuff I need coming and forgot about a stringer. Its for a 57" recurve

another vote for selway

For a recurve bow, I prefer the one that came with my Blacktail from Blacktail Bows. It's a long piece of 1" wide flat webbing. The pockets are big enough to easily and safely string and unstring a recurve. After the pockets are over the tips, I step on the wide flat webbing with both feet and pull up to string or unstring. Very well made, strong and durable.

Hands down (for me) is a Webster. It will string Longbows and Recurves.

Especially, my super heavy 100# plus bows. A regular Cup and Rubber stopper stringer won't work for that kind of weight.

Sorry had to add that one in here since no one has mentioned it.
They are real easy to make with a section of old 2-1/2" leather belt, 3/8" rubber tubing, & 3/8" Braided Nylon rope w/ working strength of 250LB. or better.

Take the leather belt & cut a 4" section.
fold the section of belt in half & sew it on the sides making a pocket.
Drill 2 holes in the pocket on each side of the opening.
Thread the nylon rope through the holes & tie it off to make the bottom cup of the stringer.
Here's the tricky part, cut off enough rope to make the stringer with enough room to have the rubber tubing loop.
Thread the free end of the nylon rope through the 3/8" ruber tubing "tubing should be about 3" in length, unless the limbs are narrower then a smaller piece will work."
Once the rope is through the tubing make a loop & tie it off so you now have the top half of the stringer.

Once made all you have to to is adjust the length to suit your needs by untieing & adjusting either end & resecuring, but it will last for many years.

I have used many and I agree the Webster is the best.

We have Websters for your consideration.  An excellent stringer that will handle 99% of the bows out there.

  Webster bow stringers at Braveheart Archery

I have a Saunders recurve stringer and it works great.  It has the plastic cup on one end and the rubber block on the other.  I picked up a Webster from Braveheart Archery after I got my first longbow a while back.  I agree with the others, the Webster works great and will work with all your bows.

I am in the same camp as those that say Webster.

The Selway is great but will have you untangling it all the time.  That won't be an issue if you go with the webster.

Selway is what I have been using. I may have to check out the webster.
