Picked up my newest KwykStyk from Jack right after our Alberta Bowhunters Assoc banquet (April 2).  Is a beauty and shoots like a dream!!  Bocote and bloodwood, bamboo limbs. 51# - 56" long.  I draw it 27 3/4". Shooting 31 1/4" CE Heritage 250s - 100 gr insert with 150 gr Magnus Stinger 4 blade bheads.  Total arrow weight 630 gr. 147 fps/30 ft #s of energy/13.2 lb/ft/sec momentum.  Brace height 7 5/8, noc 1" high. Put a Selway slide on quiver on it.

Jack made us a KwykStyk that we raffled off at our banquet and we had our special guest Fred Eichler sign it for the lucky winner.  Jack's bow (no surprise here) was the most sought after item we had up for auction/raffle.  We gave Jack a personalized ABA leather jacket as a token of our appreciation.

At 15 yds - bait is 12 yds from treestand.  Jack's new bow has a date with a big black bear I hope -- and hopefully soon!!

Nice bow.  I'm on Jacks list and looking to get a Kwyk Styk with about the same specs as yours.  Good luck bear hunting with it.  Remember we like to see pictures.

Beautiful bow...I would drop the arrow weight though to about 530 grains. You'll get the same penetration at close distances but increase the efficiency.

Good luck with the new bow, she is a looker...

I'll definately send pics!!  We chked bait first time so far this year (late late spring and some snow still hanging on) as we have to move it a bit (too many trees fell down at old site)and this real good track (just over 5", big toes, pigeon toed) was on the road right where we go to bait.  Bait is all set up now so we will check on Monday and see what is going on.  Excited!!

Joe -- I did try the Axis 500s (516 gr) that I used out of Jack's other bow (same weight, same length, different woods - all Zebrawood) and they were too weak in spine (could see a bit of a kick and in paper tuning showed too weak). Went to Axis 400s I had that son uses out of his recurve (30 1/4) and they shot good actually - 541 gr. Bit faster by 10fps, the same kinetic energy but about 10% less momentum.  I wanted to go to the CE as they had the wood look and match the bow better - arrows are heavier per inch and had to keep them longer to get them to spine right and that upped the weight big time. Definately hit hard!!

Brent,
Very nice bow. Well done in your choice selection of wood and layout. They sure are a pleasure to shoot. Best of luck giving it some mojo with that bear. My beat is on you, not the bear...
