I've been perusing through past threads thanks to the search function, but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for.

I have a tanned hide from a grey fox.  It's in great condition and very pliable but just sitting in my closet. I think I'd like to try my hand at making a back quiver.  I have no clue where to start.

If anyone has any pics, pointers, or instructions I'm open to it all. Thanks in advance.

I too would like to learn more about this.       :coffee:

I did mine the easy way. I justed droped my regular back quiver into a cased/tanned coyote hide. Ran the bottom of the strap through a leg hole and stitched the top. Was done in about an hour and have been using it for about 10 yrs now. There is a pic of it at the back of the last back quiver thread.

There are a few good build alongs on the Primitive Archer "how Too" thread. Working with hair on hides has a few techniques you will want to know before starting. I used the techniques there on this coyote quiver I built but tweeked the design to my liking.

The coyote face is the flap of a detachable possibles bag.

I used a latigo leather back quiver I made to fit inside an amber fox hide I picked up fully tanned.  I slid the hide over the quiver.  The latigo quiver is tough as nails and the hide is glued and edge stitched around the top of the quiver.
