silver flame bh`s ,who uses em ?

i`m thinking of getting some silver flame (G/K) heads but my compound shooting mates complain about poor blood trails ( a bit of a problem in africa ) i`d like to hear & see (pics if poss )how they perform out of trad bows before i lay out that kind of money ,ill be shooting them out of my 55# widow .

BUFF is using them and have some unbelivable vids of harvests where the Silver Flames is used!

I'm gonna use some SF in 210 grains when Papasheff and I is visiting B&B in start june

I use them exclusively. They are very expensive now but worth every penny. Mine are scary sharp. I shoot them out of a 55lb widow as well. They will be good to go. I am a heavy arrow type myself.

All I use is Silverflame XL's (1 1/2") on regular sized critters. I have experienced the poor blood trail problem with the regular Silverflames (1 1/8")and only use them on BIG critters now for better penetration. I have had no blood trail issues with th XL's unless I made a bad shot and put the arrow in the wrong place (in which case any BH would not have worked). As far as Africa goes, use the Silverflames with confidence over there. The trackers over there have an uncanny ability to find animals. If they can't find it then it probably is not dead.

i use them. i use the XL's primarily like Bisch does. For hogs and deer, they are lethal!

Lots of work and less free time but who`s complaining :D

ps: Check out Abowiers site and look at the Wapiti broadheads, they look great, I just ordered some for testing out at Letsatsi.

Personally I find them to be a way overpriced broadhead. So many other great choices out there at so much less $$$.

Nothing against people who use em.
I just prefer to spend my $$$ elsewhere.

Been using nothing but for quite a few years now, although I have not tried the SFs sold by AAS. Mine are all 150 gr. German heads. Can't say that I've ever experienced a lack of a blood trail, although most animals don't go very far!

I have to admit though......I'm going to try Abowyer Brown Bears this year. Something about a 260 gr. single bevel that I've got to give it a try. I do love the Silverflames though!

I used the SFXL 150 gr last year on a whitetail and the effect was impressive to say the least. Huge spray of blood out of the off side then immediate blood everywhere!!! It was sprayed up on the dog fennel(a local weed) at 6-7ft up! crazy good work!

looks like the xl`s might be the way to go ?
i tend to shoot arrows about 540/550gn`s i like to have a fairly quick arrow ( anybody thats hunted impala will know what i mean

) had pasthroughs on the two kudu cows i shot in 2009 with that weight arrow but both ww heads bent at the tip after hitting the ground . a friend of mine hit a wilderbeast in the shoulder out of a tree stand in 2006 with a s/f & when we found it it was fine

I have some and they hold a super edge.

Although, I shot a whitetail a few years back, pass-thru on the lungs, and the blood trail was as poor as I've ever seen. Just a few drops a few feet from the hit, then nothing, and I had a forest floor covered with great leaves for tracking. Luckily, the deer only went 85 yards, but I had to find it by grid searching blind.

Then again, that could happen with 2 blades, no matter what.
