Hello folks I'm gonna show my ignorance here. How do you tell a Rio grande turkey fom some of the wild looking heritage breeds. This is my first time turkey hunting and the property that I'm hunting has both, seems the "crazy bird lady" next door has a mixed flock of feral heritage turkeys that has mixed with the wild ones and so not to cause any problems I want to make sure I don't get one of hers. Thanks  Art

Ok I'm guessing everyone else is just as clueless as to any one sure fire distinguishing characteristic. Ok how bout this question. Anyone familiar with the "grey area " of mixed blood turkeys? I have called the local warden and the biologist and neither one can tell me for sure if feral or mixed blood turkeys are property of the state and need to be tagged or if there more like feral pigs "open to hunt with a license only". Any Oregon residents know, how bout other states what do they say.
