These have got to be the best all-around bows--light, forgiving, fast & quiet.  The best all-around hunting bows for any situation--the best cross between a longbow and a modern recurve.  These bows are what the reflex-deflex modern longbows are trying to be.  This is Not a debate free subject.  Would like to hear your opinion on this topic.

I like the looks of them. A few years back I shot a 3d with a guy who had one, a 59er. It was a lefty so I didn't shoot it.

I think the guy that had the 59er told me it was made by The guy that makes the Griffin (spelling) long bows. The one who use to make Shrews. I might be wrong as it's been a number of years.

Any way this guy said he loved it and it shot great.

I agree. I like some of the new hybrid/flatbow/R&D "longbows" but I'll pick up a good recurve everytime. One of the better ones was Fazio's Sovereign Trident. You don't hear too much about those but you never see them for sale either.

My wife's Saxon Fox is a nice shooter.

I love these styles of recurves like my St. Joe Rivers for a couple reasons. #1 I love shooting my longbows as well so very easy to switch back and forth.  #2 With my longer draw a recurve allows me to shoot a little shorter bow witch is great in the turkey blinds!!

My Kohannah Kurve is a super bow. Light in the hand, fast, quiet, and accurate.
I've had a Mahaska and a Ramhorn I also really liked.Have a Chek-mate on the way.
To my eye, the 50's style recurves are the best looking bows.

I've always enjoyed them.  I like a light weight hunting bow and these sleek bows have great lines.  They are also nice for the person who wants to switch back and forth from a longbow and a recurve.

Yep, like they all said.  Those old bows are great if you like to shoot a longbow also.  Nice and light and the grip is more longbow style.

I have a Saxon Selkirk,it is bar none the fastest and hardest shooting bow I've ever shot,and like you all say very easy to carry all day.The workmanship is beautiful.

I recently picked up an Elburg Cheetah thru a trade.... I have been shooting 3 pc T/D's for a long time.

Shot this one and it blew me away!! I did not realize a 50's style could be so fast... I was using fingers and a pretty light carbon GT 5575 with a 145 F/T up front [450 gn total, 7.5 gpp ]... 3 shots at 198 and two at 201 fps [only shot 5 arrows]

I had it weighed at my 28 1/2" draw length... came in right at 60-61#.

Very happy with this one, and Oh Sooo light in the hand.

I have a psr by blackwidow. It a super little 50's style. It took me a while to learn it but I can't seem to put it down.

i have a kota killum'; birdseye maple. excellent bow!!    

John McCoulough (sp) makes the Griffin bows and does indeed make a nice 59er. I just picked up a 59er made by EB Holcomb, what a nice shooter.

I have a Great Northern Ghost and very much like it.  It is very light and fast . . .and it looks pretty cool too.

As far as debate between the hybrid L/B's and a 50's style curve I think it depends on the company. I went with a GN fireball because it had the same performance numbers as the ghost, but it was a lot quieter.  I'm saving the cash right now for a whisperstik
