first off hello
im new here and new to traditional archery also.
i traded for this bow and im glad i did im having lots of fun with it and i have lots of ?s
help me become one with this bow    

i pull 30 1/2 to the outside of the bow.
im using 32 1/2 inch from knock grove to back of point gold tip expedition hunter 55/75s camo carbons with 125 grain tips.
the arrows are 416/417 grains with tip.

1st. ? are these  to light for this bow ?.

they shoot good but read about the dry fire affect so was wondering dont want to blow this fine old as me bow up
im a 1968 also think the bow is in much better shape than myself

2nd.? what brace height should i have?

its at 8 even from deepest spot on grip to string now.
 
with my 30 1/2 draw to outside of bow
and my bristol rest a inch back at 29 1/2

3rd.? what would be my draw weight?.
A. 30 1/2 @55ish#  +2 1/2in. = 7ish#
B. 29 1/2 @52# +1 1/2in. = 4ish#

i relize that its only a few pounds diferance but was wondering. how to figure it out. i read you figure it from where your arrow touches. not the outside of bow.

your arrow shaft is fine for that set up,  I would consider raising your point weight substantially.  To as high as 250 gr or even 300 gr.  Sounds crazy but has little effect on arrow trajectory at hunting ranges and greatly increases penetration. Carbons are very forgiving shafts.  A good rule of thumb is 10 gr. per lb of draw weight, at 30.5 " you are in the area of 55lbs.  Therefore a 550 gr arrow would be appropriate.  A 250 gr tip or 300 gr would put you in a good place.  Figure about 3 lbs per in of draw is fairly accurate.  Brace height should be OK @ 8" no hard and fast rules, if shooting a flemish string, twist it up and down and see what you and the bow like best.

im loving this traditional archery ill have to look for heavy tips the bow shop that is close has nothing over 125 and most are 100 and under.
i have bought a bunch of used compounds through the years never pulled one back always traded it for something but this recurve thing im loving it. i want to buy some fat aluminium arrows to make spiral flu flus for this bow. i need them at least 31 1/2 long for tip knuckle clearence could you or any of you on here tell me what size shaft i need with a 125 tip

Woodcock is right on the money. Trouble is, most of the wheelie shops don't carry anything heavier that 125. May I suggest simply going to one of our sponsors here? They have everything you would ever need. 3 Rivers and Kustom King are both very good.

That is correct, local shops look at you funny if you ask for heavy field points.  The aluminums for your bow are 2117's I think and I believe they are 11/32"  but all of this info is available on line or through Three Rivers archery supply website and catalog.  Be careful with printed spine tables, they can be misleading especially in heavier draw weights, #70lbs and up. You can probably find beater shafts here on the classifieds for aerial shooting/Flu-flus.

2117s i hope your right i was told at 31 1/2 they were to soft but i will give them a try with 125s on the end when the weather get better raining here now i have 3 bare and 4 4 fletched at 31 1/2 bop ive been looking at 3rivers and other shops trying to get the fun money saved
