Just got back from Texas and one of the best hunts that I have been on in years. Took Roger from Black Widow out there with me and we had a ball.

We were hunting a ranch in Rocksprings Texas. I took the hog at a water hole in the evening, the shot was ten yards with a twenty yard recovery. I used PCHII Black Widow recurve and a Woodsman head. The turkey I took with the same set up except for the head was a Woodsman Elite. The shot was thirty yards with a fifty yard recovery. One of the most exciting turkey hunts I have been on in years, the birds weren't working real good but this bird strutted the whole time he came in. He hung out at around fifty yards for fifteen minutes so when he worked on in to thirty I let him have it.
Roger took his turkey also with a Black Widow PCH his shot was around fifteen yards and a twenty yard recovery.
I haven't quit shooting my osage bows just like all bows and love to shoot different ones on hunts.

"instinctive archery" is more like playing the violin. Without practice you may remember the mechanics, but you will not be a virtuoso.

Congrats to you! The thunder chickens down our way (south of san antonio) have not cooperated one bit this year. I hope they do before the season ends.

You really haven't hunted the old fashion way until you've done it from one of these Indian houses.(The Tipi) "Glenn ST. Charles"
