I'm hoping to get some ideas for arrow set-ups. I'm 29-30 inch draw and I shoot a number of different bows 55-60lbs at my draw.

What arrows do you shoot with similar stats
Thanks
Allan

Bjorn

I shoot wood with my ACS CX; if my DL were 30" I would need105/110# Doug Fir shooting a 160 gn point.
Wow! That would be a killer set up!   :archer2:

PEARL DRUMS

29" draw, 55# osage selfbow, 30" 65-70 cedars with 125 gr upfront and 5.5" feathers. 5 gasket laquer dips to add a pinch of weight and stiffness.

29" draw, 53# sinew backed hickory selfbow, 30" 60-65 cedars with 125 gr upfront and 5.5" feathers.

COOCH

I have a 56# BW PSA2 that I draw 29" I'm currently shooting an Easton FMJ 400 w/a 100gr brass insert and 3" wooden dowel inside.125gr broadhead.that gives it a 590gr arrow with 17.8% FOC.

It also shoots a 29.5 FMJ 340 100gr brass insert w/ a 5" wooden dowel internal,an 1.25 2016 external foot,190gr el grande with a 125gr steel insert yeilding a 794.6gr arrow with 28.8% EFOC

Both fly like tack drivers however if you don't shoot extremly heavy arrows stick with the first setup. That setup blew through everything with plenty of punch left too spare.

I shoot a 49 @ 28 A&H that I draw to about 54#'s. My arrow length is 31".
With that set up I use an Axis 400 with 250+ up front.. I would be the same set up would work for you..

jhg

ICS trad bowhunter 300's. My bows are right about 60 lbs or a bit over at 30".
I never could get the softer arrows to fly right without 1) shortening them to my draw limit and 2)reducing their overall weight to less than what I wanted to shoot: =/>10 gpi

You may be okay one click softer for a 55 lb bow and not a real heavy total arrow weight. Try 9 gpi.

JAG

Doug Fir spine @ 60-65#
Ash spine @ 60-65#
Hickory spine @ 60#
All heavy finished arrow wt. %00Gr. +
Just what I like to have in my quiver.

Allan,

I draw around 30" and shoot an A&H ACS and a Saluki Ibex and pulling around 57#. Current I'm using the 340 Axis FMJ's with 250 up front.

Jordan

Allan I draw 30".  I shoot a Black Widow PMA with 62" limbs its 59# at my draw.  I shoot Beman 340 Bone Collectors.  When I cut them to 31" they bare shaft absolutely perfect for me.  No weight inserts needed at all.

2216

I shoot easton 2216's @ 29.5 inches and 64#. I just busted my piggy bank and will be building a dozen beman MFX's 340 full length. I use 125 gain points and both fly perfect.

habujohn

Easton axis 400 with my 52# limbs and 340's with my 57# limbs from a Habu VyperKan.  I draw just a tad over 29".  For broad heads I shot a 145gr two blade Magnus or a three blade snuffer.

wtpops

31" draw shooting 56 to 59# and use a 2216 or 2219 easton legacy at 32" with 125 to 150 grain point.

Long draws are nice and i dont want to look a gift horse in the mouth but i am sure limited on arrow choice and point weight choice

Its realy gonna vary with the bow, 60-65 out of a Hill style or 70-75 out of a shrew of the same weight for me.

I'm especially interested in carbon sizes and tip / insert weight

bretto

59 at 30" MOAB full length 55-75 GT aluminum insert 200 gr. point.

60 at 30 Tomahawk 31 1/2" CE Heritage 250 100 gr. brass insert 175 gr. point.

I can shoot the GT's out of the Tomahawk but can't shoot the 250's out of the MOAB.
