Was just wanting to see some pictures of your guys brown glass bows. Been thinking that it looks pretty cool and eventually my next bow will probably have it.

Thanks!

Red Tailed Hawk

I dont have any brown glass bows, but I also like the look of them. Come on guys show us what you got.

Here's a couple of pictures of one I just finished. The pictures are not the best but it does have brown glass on the back. The riser is curly maple and walnut. The curly doesn't show up well in these pics. The brown glass goes great with the walnut. This one has zebra wood on the belly. I like brown glass myself and and have several more pieces to work with on my next bows.

Love the walnut with the brown glass and the belly side of the riser on that bow is sweet!

Tater

Tough to see the brown glass with the Ebony but it looks sharp.!

I'm with you, K, that brown glass does indeed look nice. Chad at LC offers it as well as the new Hunter model at Zipper. I've thought the Zipper with the charcoal riser with brown limbs would be a very nice color combo.

I've been looking at Chad's Brown Glass bows and that's part of what sparked this thread. Mike's Maddog bows are what I'm really looking at too. His 50's style recurve has me drooling...

Here's one I made several years ago.  It's cocobolo with bubinga and brown glass.  Great topic, I'm also interested in seeing other combos.

Only brown glass bow I have is a Ben Pearson Colt but I don't have any pics of it, YET!!!

Doesn't show much limb. I made this one thinking I would skin 'em but I like the brown so don't know if I'll do it or not.

Riser is out of cocobolo slabs sandwiching a bird's eye maple I-beam, and trimmed in purpleheart.

Jim, that second bow is exactly what I'd be getting. The zebra in the riser is gorgeous.

Ceme, that zebra bear is also beautiful.

I believe Jim and I are both showing you the same bow essentially.  They are both 1964/1965 Bear Grizzlys.

The zebrawood is great in those bows, but I personally prefer the grip on my 1967 vs. the 1964.  That's all personal preference though.

I believe the Bear Tigercat came in zebrawood and 62" in the late 1960's with brown glass.  Those are nice bows too.

I figured they were the same just wasn't sure and didn't want to sound stupid.   :archer:
