I believe the angle of the edge on the snuffer is to wide for the accusharp...

Which model did you get? Are the different model of the accusharp set at different angles ? I dont think you'd want your lawn mower blades as sharp as a knife or broadhead...and thats my luck, Id order the wrong one.

I was interested in this sharpener after reading this thread, so I wondered if my local Sportsman's Warehouse carried them. A quick look at their website told me no, but they had a couple similar looking products. I thought I'd go take a look and try to find one that had the same Tungsten Carbide cutters that the Accusharp has.

I just went and found a Lansky model (Lansky Deluxe Quick Edge) with the TC blades. Picked it up, why not give it a try at only $6.99. I had a buddy with me, who is not a hunter but is a knife enthusiast. Took the sharpener out to the car and tried it on our daily carry tactical knives. OMG, 10 seconds and it's sharper than I've ever been able to obtain with a stone, I mean actually hair-poppin!

My buddy immediately went back into the store and bought one for himself. Amazing when an inexpensive product works this well.

I'll be touching up my broadheads with this thing tonight.

Really like them on my eskimos,  I will then use a piece of leather to hone with. PERFECT !

Has anyone used the accusharp on Simmons sharks and, if so, how did it work on them?

Joe... I have and didn't like it much. Because of the grind of the blade and the angle of the Accusharp, too much metal has to be removed negating the advantage of the hollow ground edge.

The "RADA" sharpener is the best option for Simmons. Works great on other edges as well.  

Use either tool very lightly in finishing the edge. A good crock stick or jewel stick seals the deal.
