I just finished building a reflex deflex longbow and was wondering if it would be ok to shoot fastflight string on it.  I have a friend who builds a lot of bows and he thought it would be alright.  What do you think?  I will try to post pictures.  Thanks

Since you built the bow, only you can decide. If you put glass or phenolic in the tips you would probably ok, they look thick enough. Looks like a strip of carbon or glass under the lam on back of bow too.

You'll be fine with FF on that bow.  However...the angle of the nocks looks a bit too horizontal to me.  The string loops should have a gradual bend...not that sharp angle where they contact the belly of the bow.

Btw...gorgeous bow!  Nice curves & color combo also!

Gordon, Is this new bow in the mountain man 90 pound range?   Jack

Thanks everyone, I think I will try the fastflight.  Jack, age is catching up with me.  The bow is only 58# @ 28". Lol.  I do need to work on the bow nocks.  I haven't shot the bow much but it is already showing wear on the dacron string.  Thanks again.  Jack, I hope you are doing well.

Sweet looking bow!  If it shoots as nice as it looks you've got a real winner.  Like the long riser and curve of the limbs.  Reminds me of my Bigriver - which reminds me of the 21st Century I had.  Congratulations!

If your worried you can use a FF string with padded loops, you'll be good to go!

nice looking bow, congrats!

8 strand endless hmpe (literally any modern string fiber but would recommend df-97) bowstring, pad the loops to 12 strands total, use nylon loop serving - you'll not have any problems and get only good stuff back in return.
