I've read the following about them on a supplier's sight:

  "Trueflight solid colors are made in the USA and are the finest feathers available anywhere."

Have you all found this to be true? If so, what is the main difference between them and the others?

I want to get the most out of my money, and if I get a product just as good for less money, thats what I'll buy...unless the tru-flights definitely worth the extra money.

From my experience the base on the TrueFlight is much more consistent and the colors are brighter.. I happily pay the price for quality.

I don't mind at all paying more $ for quality...I just want to know ahead of time if the quality is substantial enough to warrant spending the extra dollars.

   

I go TrueFlight all the way.The base is a more consistant thickness and width which makes them easyer to fletch an arrow more even. The colors as "Javi" also said are more colorfull and brighter. They are well worth the few extra bucks.

Consistent thickness and width and length.. They are cut cleanly too..

I have used trueflight for years but I bought some gateway to try because they were cheaper. The trueflight have a better base for glueing and hold up much better. After target practicing some the gateway edges start fraying and get fuzzy looking.

I use both and tend to prefer the Gateway for chopping shapes.
To my eye, Trueflight bases are ground thin and wide. Gateway bases are narrow and thick. I have better results with Gateway in Little Choppers.
I like Gateway camo patterns but Trueflight's artificial barred.

Once they get on the arrow, I've never noticed a bit of difference between the two brands.
No one I've made arrows for has ever asked me or seemed to care what brand feathers are on the arrows.

Agree with all on the truflite quality. I have used Gateway and AMG, Gateway has chunky uneven bases that stick up higher then the others. AMG is between Truflite and Gateway, the base on their feathers are a little better then Gateway. AMG is the only one that has a nice lime color if you are out for a color that grabs your eye. It pays to shop around only because some shops charge a kings ransom for feathers no matter what brand they sell.

Cant answer to the AMG, but I have used both TrueFlights and Gateways. I much prefer the Trueflights based on the bases. Much more consistent.

Tru-flights are a quality feather,thats what I use mostly.But I use all three,Tru-flight,AMG and Gateway and they all fly fine.I just don't mix the different makes.

I've always gotten full length feathers from Tru-flight so i could chop two 4" out of one but the feathers are shorter and thinner now since they are pulling them from younger birds.
Is this exclusive to Tru-flight or do AMG and Gateway get their feathers from the same dealers or farms?

I've shot both Trueflite and Gateway feathers and I prefer Gateway. They seem to be more durable for me.

The poultry industry is more than 99% vertically integrated.  What that means is that opposed to the cattle industry, where you have thousands of producers and thus great variation in the end products...  Poultry is controlled by a small handful of corporations from breeding all the way to slaughter.  Selection and genetics have allowed for birds that grow muscle at such a rate that some are unable to walk even a short distance without collapsing.  Turkeys must be artificially inseminated because their new physique is such that they cannot breed naturally.  

So...

Feather quality is down across the board.  Any differences in processed feathers will be due to differences in processing technique by the manufacturer, or because Tru Flight possibly pays their suppliers more, enabling them to offer the "best of the worst", albeit at a higher price to the consumer...

I have bought the AMGS, and the colors and qualit are very good, Trueflight and AMG my choices.

True Flight after trying them all.. they are simply the best!

I just bought a couple hundred AMG'S and they appear to be a quality feather at a much more reasonable price than the Trueflights or the Gateways.
Also the colors are very bright.

You need to buy a dozen of each brand, fletch them up, and report back what you think.  

I get the AMG's from Braveheart Archery(sponcer)and they are very good feathers at a good price.  Bob

I've used tru-flite for years, they work better for me than gateway.  Have never used AMG's, so no input there.
I can't fix what isn't broken, going to stick with tru-flites.
