We were able to get out for another stump shoot today here in SW Wisconsin.  It's still kind of chilly here but spring is just around the corner.  Here's todays crew from left to right:  My youngest son Zach, my Dad (Bernie B here on tradgang), my oldest son Luke, me (Jay), and our springer Penny.

Because of the colder morning weather we stuck around the field behind the cabin to get things started.

Three Finger

Good stuff. Looks like a really good time. Thanks for sharing.

Here's todays line up of bows.  Zach was shooting a 7# Bear Trainer from a fellow tradganger. Luke shot a Bear Bearcat.  This bow was my Moms origionally. When we were kids Dad painted it in camo for us boys to match his Red Wing Hunter.  This winter the boys and I refinished it to its original look.

I shot a Bingham bow that Dad purchased in the late 70's or early 80's and Dad was shooting the Red Wing Hunter that was painted like the Bearcat and just refinished and had some weight taken off of it.

Penny found a comfortable spot to lounge around.

Looks like a fun day.   The first few warm days of spring are a great time to be out.

I made a bow in high school like your Bingham, I'd recognize that profile anywhere.  Bows were a pretty popular shop project back then.

The Whittler

Good for you, nothing like bows and kids.

JJB

I wish they still sold bows glued up and ready to finish like that.  It's a beautiful bow and a great shooter.

We worked our way up a draw and made our way to the top of the ridge.

We saw several of these mushrooms, does anybody know what kind they are?

Great day out....looks like a good time....nice looking dog also!

It was a great day to be out.  Penny is a great dog, she's almost 3 and is great with the boys and in the house.  She holds her own in a pheasant field also.

We came across this rub when we got to the top.  I'd like to run into the guy that made this rub this fall.

Next we made our way down the other side of the ridge on our way back to the cabin.  There are several large limestone outcropping on this hill.

We had a great day, thanks for coming along.

I try not to let my mind wander...It is too small and fragile to be out by itself.

Thanks for including us in your shoot.
Great pics, and it looks like you family knows all about "pass it on".
Thanks
Archery is a family sport, enjoy it with your family.

The rub must have been made in the fall.  All the bucks up here have lost their antlers by now, we're keeping our eyes open for some sheds but haven't come across any yet.

We're in SW Wisconsin, near Viroqua.
