MT Longbow

Hi there , does anyone shoot te Grizzly Stik tapered carbon shafts from Alaska Bowhunting and if so, if the Sitka for example is spined right will it shoot proper out of a Long bow.  I heard that tapered shafts are tough to get to fly off the shelf.

Thanks

Actually one of the advantages of tapered shafts is they usually are easier to shoot off the shelf; as least for wood.  I've not shot Grizzly shafts.

I don't have the grizz stiks, but a have the AD's and they are also tapered, and they fly great off the shelf out of all my longbows. don't see why you would have a problem if they are spined rite.

I have shot both the grizz sticks and AD Hammerheads. Both flew great out of my recurves and longbows. I like tapered wood better though.

I shoot the AD hammerheads, Fly great out of a multitude of bows. They recover quicker and make up for a few of my release problems.

Fly like darts, had a little problem with nocks staying on.

Sitkas fly real nice from my 46, 50 and 52# longbows.

Huntschool

I shoot the AD's both Trad Lites and Nitro Stingers.  They are fantastic.  Easy to tune and fly great.

Patrick, hello from another Montanan.  Whoever told you that tapered shafts don't fly well off the shelf didn't know what he was talking about.  Any tapered shaft wether carbon or wood will fly very well when set up for your bow. Most people prefer tapered shafts when shooting wood arrows.  Joseph

Agree,clean the window better,more weight in front,recovery better/faster...
An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

I use the same tapered carbon shafts out of 4 different bows.  All shot off the shelf.  I use AD's and Grizzly Stics.

I shot griz and hammer head. Both shot very well out of my L/B and curves. Really like the griz but they are pricey. The some of our 3D course running along a river it can get expensive if your having a bad day.

Stick bows and arrows go together like peanut butter and jelly. Any arrow can be shot out of a stick bow, regardless what kind of arrow.
