Well my stalker 3-piece Longbow has arrived. As many of you may remember, South Cox, owner of Stalker Bows had a contest shortly before Christmas to name his new line of longbows. He was giving away a custom bow to whomever came up with some new names for his bows.
I ended up being one of the 2 luck winners!
When South contacted me I couldn't believe it. He told me to choose whatever combo of woods I wanted. I almost felt like I was stealing!!! I ended up going with a bocote riser footed with ebony. the limbes are bamboo with a strip of carbon and a carbon inlay on the limbs. I choses bocote on the back of the limbs and South picked the veneers on the belly. Not sure what they are? Look like figured walnut? He also used, I believe , leapardwood for some of the overlays.
The bow is VERY pretty and although not tuned yet, shoots very well also.
It is 58" 47@25"
I have thanked South several times, but I want to say it again publicly!!!!!
