With the ridiculous sales on the Ted Nugent blend at big Jims I have bought a several dozen. I decided to add a little pizzaz to the funky purple shafts. This is only my second batch of crested arrows. They are far from perfect and I keep learning new ways to screw up but, I think they aren't too shabby for all that. Kustom King is sending me some Zebra striped fletching this week. Lol they may be purple and funky but, the price is right so what the heck.

You are right:

WHAT THE HECK!     :scared:      :scared:      :scared:

P.S. - The cresting looks great. I just can't handle the purple! You need to go to bed every night telling yourself how pretty those things are!    :bigsmyl:    :bigsmyl:    :bigsmyl:

Purple Power!

The largest reason I shoot carbon shafts is because when Big Jim has his sale, I get them cheaper than wood.

I think they look good. Trying different paints, colors, etc. is what makes making arrows fun. So what if you mess up one, just strip it and do over. I have been known to strip a doz. and do over because I wanted to. Of course this is with carbon and alum, wood shafts, strpper, and me donot play well together.

Lesson learned so far.

1- no mor than two cups of coffee when the time comes to paint little black lines
2-nail polish remover does not work well for cleaning paint brushes when using testors.
3-buy quality brushes or the little hair will come loose and get stuck in the paint
4-cresting arrows and catching a buzz do not mix well
5-I really need to build a proper jig, chucking them in a portable drill is a recipe for uneven lines
6-if you spray a clear coat on top of you testors paint and don't allow it to dry for 24 hours prior you will have to start all over
7-cresting is fun but, takes patience. Being in a hurry is bad.
8- and finally if you have an 8 year old daughter you can warn her with the most dire of consequences but, she will knock over your nice little row of shaft while they are drying, and if she doesn't then the da*# dog will! Lol

So, where does the guinea pig fit in all of this? Are you running visual experiments on it with all those spinning colors? Is the pig now permanently cross-eyed from all of that brilliance?
OR, are you experimenting on US! I'm starting to like that purple the more I look at it the more I like it.

The guinea pig comes in because that's where the wifey stores her food. Or as she would say next to all the crap all over the kitchen table. As far as experiments go I certainly am not attempting to mesmerize you as a first step toward global domination or anything........seriously........
