Exactly! Yes two bucks are legal in his state and yes he got his deer but I see a huge lesson in this story and I guess nobody else does. I guess things are changing around here    :dunno:

Think you made up real quick on those 4 yrs...! Great looking bucks. congrats!!

Yeah, Trapper, I think I see it too.  It is possible that he had two either sex tags, but most of us don't.  Still an exciting day and two really nice deer.

WOW, now that you have some venison in the freezer you can hold out for a big 'un. Great Job and follow up.

I'm from IL , and I have both my either sex permits, which also came with a bonus antlerless on both so I have 4 permits with me, along with TWO fall turkey archery permits. I'm betting he was legal,

Personally I do not think it is very nice to IMPLY  He was hunting illegally.

Now as far as the "Lesson" goes, I'm guessing the lesson learned is suppose to be if you shoot an animal, don't shoot another unless you have tried to find the other one first?

I don't think there is a lesson to be learned here at all. If you have the tags, shoot all you want. If the first deer was wounded and not able to be recovered then he wouldn't have got one at all that day, if it was recoverable then we get this awesome outcome!!

GREAT job!!!

I agree with this post. Those are two nice bucks taken legally, and you don't need to feel anything but elation. Congratulations!   :clapper:

Never said illegal at all ever, I said it was legal to shoot two bucks in his state. Calm down, and just read how the post started and finished there is a lesson to be learned from this is all I said. I will not go in to detail if you can't figure it out    :readit:

Nice bucks, can't hate on you at all. Two either sex tags in my pocket, Im shooting at two bucks. You gave the first one time and fortune smiled upon you and another strolled by during the wait. It'd be silly not to shoot the second deer.

Congrats - I would say you had one of those rare days - enjoy!

I'd never aim for it intentionally, but I've hit that femoral artery more than once and have yet to find a faster kill. Especially if you get that pass through and hit both sides of it.

Excited to hear the rest of this one.
Why in the world would you be Excited! To hear about a deer shot in the a$$. Yes it will kill a deer but not the kind of story's we need posted on here. IMO

There's other ways to write a thread without to much information and still get the point across. Sorry just a little grumpy I guess.

Tracy [/b]
You definitely are grumpy.  I was excited because his thread was an obvious success story by the title - I very much enjoy the success stories.  What's the lesson? Never speak of a bad shot?  It happens - it's an unfortunate part of this sport.   This story had an incredibly good ending.  One that should be celebrated.

I've read your posts for years and I would gladly share a campfire any day, but I have no idea why you attacked my post or are so "against this type of thread."

I say congrats to the hunter that likely scored the best day of his hunting life.  No more intended or implied.  No one said great shot.  Now you know why I was excited.
