I think its good and bad, I had a thread that was deleted that allot of stick bows guys could have benefited from, esp the new guys taking up ground hunting.

It was not bashing, trad or a compound, it was simply talking about ground hunting.

Was some real good post about what weapon really had the advantage in that situation.

Here's how you handle that Keb....

"The benefits and advantages of stickbows on the ground"

No need to mention the compound at all.....

No need to make it an X versus y......just leave y out if it.

Honest question here.  Does this include mentioning them in passing?  For example, a guy asks about a specific scenario and someone replies, "back when I was shooting a compound........., but now with a recurve.............".  I believe I may be guilty of this at some point or another and apologize if it's not ok.  Definitely agree about keeping it all trad, but never really thought about it much for just a casual mention.  Thanks for all you do.

'In Passing' is fine...no problem...that's not what I am referring to at all.  I'm talking about topics and hunt stories and pics.

Again, I hunt with folks that shoot compounds on occasion....not bashing, not being elitist, not claiming anything superior....just this is TradGang, that's all.

Thanks Terry, not a hot tip but this is a Traditional Archery Site, it's pretty easy to understand.

Why is it when you state no to something someone always thinks they should be the exception to the rules.

Thank you Terry for sticking to your guns (so to speak).

This reminds me of our annual Trad-Only archery golf event. Several years ago we had an issue with someone's wife wanting to shoot a compound at the event. A few feathers were ruffled in the process.

SHE was welcome to join us, not the compound bow. We had lots of real bows that could be borrowed for the day.

All archers are welcome, it's the compound bow that is not.

Same goes here. Pretty simple really.

yep...just because dont want them here does not mean there is any hatred or dislike of the people using them....we are just different here.  Not good or bad...just different.

I have nothing against compound bows or the folks who use them. In fact, I bought one and used it while rehabbing elbow tendonitis. My sons shoot compound bows, and I still love them anyway. There are MANY places online where you can get information about compound bows, tuning advice, post hero pics and so forth.

Coming here is like coming home again. Folks here share to joy of watching the flight of a well tuned arrow, the sexy curves of a recurve bow, the traditional D shape of a longbow, the light weight and silence of a traditional bow. Coming here and seeing compound bow posts would be like coming home and finding a stranger sitting in your favorite chair, drinking your beer, and watching American Idol on your television. That's just not right!

Keep Tradgang trad. Post your compound stuff on sites that cater to that type of bow.

Very well said 30coupe.  I could not agree more.

Unfortunately, it is comments like this one from another post...

"SHE was welcome to join us, not the compound bow. We had lots of real bows that could be borrowed for the day."

...that drives a wedge between the trad group and the other types of archers/hunters.

Why not just say "trad bows"?
Enjoy the hunt!  - Mitch
