I've applied for a Tundra Swan Permit for NC. If I draw, I am considering using my longbow. I need any advice/info that anyone can provide. If you have had any experience with outfitters that take archers I would appreciate any feedback.

I've learned that if you dress up like a fisherman and carry a pole, the swans will come well within bow range of you, often giving you a full on frontal opportunity.

Good luck and post plenty of pictures for us that aren't able to hunt swans in our States.

Check out Conman's guide service. Google it, give him a call. Super cool folks, may point you in right direction if he don't do the bow thing for swans.

They must have gotten picky? Or maybe due to non resident? Most time you put in you get it?

I have never even thought about hunting swans , that sounds neat .
I have heard that they are good eating .
Good luck to you .

Last year there were 8065 applicants for 5000 permits, so the odds are pretty good.

Check with guys/gals in the North Carolina Bowhunters Association. Quite a few of their members have successfully hunter tundra swans in the past.  Google for their website.

Good luck guys!.

I'm curious as to what they taste like... Canada goose, snow goose, puddle ducks, divers?

Or do they have a particular, distinct, separate taste?
May your next adventure lighten your heart, test your spirit, and nourish your soul.

I had no idea you could hunt tundra swans. You learn something everyday.

Thanks Bud. I'm originally from Liberty and still do most of my hunting in Randolph county on family land.

Get up with Cory Mattson. He can steer you in the right direction. He's on here so you could pm him.
