Yes! The sunrise on Tuesday and weds here was spectacular as well. VERY RED! Someone mentioned that it had something to do with the fires out west.

That is so awesome. The smoke as bad as it is has its own beauty. You always seem to capture things for the beauty nature can offer.

Unfortunately, the forests are red hot in E. WA and NE OR. Wind out of the NE brought smoke to our area and limited visibility to a mile, the moon and sun turned reddish-orange.  Sorry no    permitted.

Cool pic!  As much as people dislike fires, they sure paint some beautiful pictures with the sun.  And as devastating as they can be initially for the forest, often times they benefit wildlife in the long run.

'Tis a sad tale of woe I will now relate. This morning I went out to my alfala field place, and goats were everywhere. There is a stream line that separates two large fields, and the grass and cover is substantial. I sat in there for a while, checking out various antelope, watching how they were moving, and I spied a solitary buck who seemed to be feeding pretty close to the stream. He wasn't particularly big, but he appeared to be cooperative, so I decided to see if I could stalk within range.
30 slow minutes later, I was within striking distance. Waiting for the buck to turn for a broadside, I nocked an arrow, tried to clear a bit of grass that was in the way of my limbs, and prepared. I remember looking right at his vital area, right up until I drew and fired one right over his back. He flinched, looked around, and started to grab some grass. So, marksman that I am, I loaded up and fired another one right over him. PICK A SPOT, IDIOT!!
Well, that was enough for him, so he trotted off to join his other unharmed buddies. Did I mention that I paced the shot off afterword, and it was 15 yards?
Probably one of the easiest shots I have ever blown. 15 yards, broadside, feeding antelope.
After he left, I took out a stumping arrow and nailed a dirt clod at 25 paces.
This doesn't leave me brimming over with confidence for next week when the real show begins with elk.
I'm going stump shooting now; looks like I could use the practice.

I feel your pain Centaur you saw my hunt shot right over one at 18 and tried to miss the second shot I got. I'm with you, as of Monday I am shooting everyday until Sep 4th. Pick a spot, Pick a very small spot is now in my mind.
