Source for footed arrows?

Hello all,

I've been shooting carbon arrows the last few years, but have recently gotten the itch to go back to wood shafts.

Only problem is that I have close to a 32" draw, and therefore need a footed arrow to get the extra length.

Bob Burton's website says he is close to retiring, and I would rather try some Douglas Fir shafts anyway.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Paul

The Footed Shaft has footed arrows.  I believe they're POC though.

I would think that either Wapiti, Forrester or Surewood could take on the challenge of supplying shafts to someone with unnaturally long arms.  Or, one could go with a straight grip longbow and bend things up a little, Hill style.  If I remember right Forrester can supply mahogany shafts out to 36".

Raptor archery can set you up too I believe.

Depending on the bow, I have close to a 31½ " DL. I have some sets of carbon arrows, but really prefer using wood.

I am having Ron French (Tree Killer) make up a dozen footed arrows right now.     :D    I think he got the shafts from Raptor Archery.

There are longer shafts out there if you don't want to use footed arrows, but they are tough to find.
I had Paul Jalon at Elite make up a couple sets of longer arrows last year with some old stock shafts he had.

I also just won 2 dozen 33" chundoo shaft in the St. Jude Children's auction, so I think I'm set for a while.     :D

Anybody else know of someone that makes and sells finished footed arrows?

Fletcher

I made some long arrows using Reparrows.  They were quick and easy, worked very well and proved to be very durable.

Yeah Ted at Raptor, send him your shafts and the footings and he he will foot them. He made me some sitka spruce with an osage footing a few years back, very nice.  Pricey though.

The Brandy Wine arrows with the reparrow footings are about 34" long and at about $120.  It's not a super strong footing but it works.

Rmsgear can hook you up I believe, it's a special order but I believe they have guy they can get arrows footed by. You will have to call and ask

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!

Like Fletcher, I have used Reparrow from Jim and would recommend them.
