I am in search of a 1 piece longbow (USED) at or under the $500 range.  I need to it abide by the Texas Longbow Championship rules (can't be over 1 1/8" 3" above the shelf or 1.5" 6" below the shelf).

I am open to any bow.  I would want it to be at least 64" long.

I have looked into and located a few Holm-Made bows, a JD Berry bow, BAMA Hunters, Whippenstick, Greatnorthern Brush Bow and am open to any that are comparable to these.

This bow will be primarily shot with wood arrows at tournaments.  I consider speed important, especially when shooting targets.

Any help from you guys opinions would be VERY helpful!

Check out the Toelke Super D.   I would think you could get a used one for that
62" Super D, 47#s @ 25-1/2"
58" TS Mag, 53#s @ 26"
56" Bighorn, 46#s @ 26.5"

I would call/contact McBroom Custom Bow Company (a TG Sponsor). I don't know what his turn around is, or what he's got in stock, but the prices start at $425. They look like good bows, and you could add $30 for tip overlays and still be under the $500 mark for a brand new bow. Just my $.02 worth...

I think I found just what you are looking for Daniel!

I would spend some time checking out what the current winners are shooting, since they have already done a lot of the research for you...in the long run it is your shooting ability that will make the big difference, not your equipment

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

Bisch,

I will definitely have to consider that one.  It will just give me another chance to compete again you and Rusty.

I've had quite a few one piece custom longbows and recently picked up a new Treadway Black Swamp longbow for 525$. I know a lot of its personal preference but this bow shoots as well or better as bows I've had that cost nearly twice as much. The quality and finish of these bows are first class and you would be hard pressed to meet a nicer guy. If you don't like it he will let you send it back for a full refund.

As evidenced by the results of last weekend, it is obvious that Rusty is who you would be gunning for!

Good luck finding yourself a new stick.

I'll second RMS.  Give them a call and see what they have in stock.

What poundage are you looking for? Not sure if it meets those specs but I have a Liberty Contender I've been thinking about parting with.

I am partial to HHA bows and Northern Mist. Also, JD Berry would be nice. These would be recommendations that I am familiar with.

Omega longbows are worth a look. Kegan is a nice bowyer to deal with, makes a fast bow at a good price. You would probably be interested in the Imperial model.

take a long hard look at trinity longbows , they come in around 470 dollars and cover all bases.
edward is a great guy to boot as well.
