I have seen in the news that there is movement towards more normal relations with Cuba. If that develops, would Degame wood again become available to American bow makers? Would American archers and bow makers want lemonwood bows like they used to. I have little experience with it, but it seems that it was a very popular bow material in the past.

No, this is not a political thread, so please don't respond politically. I am just interested in hearing about lemonwood bows. I hope the question does not offend anybody.

I've adopted too many bows that needed a good home.

Is Cuba the only place it can be found?
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

Lemonwood was popular for cranking out selfbows before the advent of fiberglass.  I doubt there there would be much market for it now.  IMO.

I think there would be a market for lemonwood even though it is a marginal bow wood...but it does have historical value.
I built a hickory backed lemonwood ALB that I donated to Tennessee Classic last year. It was my first lemonwood bow and I was pleased with the results.
I think lemonwood can also be found in parts of Central America.
