Has anyone had a Whip or any other Toelke built lately, if so what was your approximate build time, or order to door time? I ordered a 64" Whip HS last Monday... The wait is killing me! Thanks guys!

Zradix

how long did they tell ya?
It'll be that long or shorter...most likely shorter

5 weeks. Just curious if they normally run longer or shorter than they say.

neargeezer

Mine have gotten to me shorter than what they said the build time would be.

Matty

I've hear most guys say 20 days! That's super fast.

GregD

I think he has been early on everything I have ever bought from him. Worth the wait regardless. Good luck with it.

He is fast. And does great work. The last one I ordered, after I hung up the phone with Dan,I heard a knock at the door. It was the mailman. With a long tube in his hand.  rat'

My guess is you will see it by end of March.

He always says 5-7 weeks but rarely does it take more than 30-35 days. Most times that includes shipping.

Still can't figure how he can turn out the quality he does in the time he does.

I have received somewhere between 12 and 14 bows from Dan. The longest I waited was 29 days from day of order to it being at my door.

Thunyor,
I don't believe the Toelkes would ever give you a lead time that they did not think they could meet or beat.
5 weeks is substantially shorter than the 6 months to a year that you may get from some of the other top bow builders!

Not sure I'll ever order a new bow again that takes 8-9 months to be delivered.  By that time I want something different.

Just think if you had to wait 1-2 years..... heck, I have heard of some that took longer. Eek

Enjoy the anticipation, its the next best thing to getting your bow.

That does seem like a long time to wait. I understand so many bowyers make great bows, and when word gets out the waiting list can get quite long. I have been wanting to order a Whip for the last 4 years or so, and finally was able to pull the trigger; so these last few weeks of waiting seem like the longest!

The Toelke's are the quickest bow builders I've ever dealt with. The bows are always perfect too.

I hope you guys and gals realize exactly how hard Dan and Jared work to make one of the best bows out there (the best IMO). They do this FULL TIME and work long hard days to get things done like they do. Total experts with total concentration on what they do. The impossible aspect of there work is they always have time for customer questions, visits, problems etc.! I used to live 20 mins from the Toelkes and we have shared hunting camps, dinners, lunches and stories. If you have the time make a point to tell them they are appreciated for their contributions to traditional archery. As a craftsman (now disabled and retired), I know a note of appreciation or a friendly call with a simple thanks goes a long way in fueling the machine within to keep going! They make a good living but are not getting rich especially when considering hourly wages and all that goes in to running a shop of this caliber.
