Flying carp field trip

I am wanting to take my son on a trip to Bowfish for the flying carp.   Can anyone provide information on a good location?  I am talking specific locations, best months etc, from someone who lives in the area and has been there and done that.  
We have been wanting to do this for years and this year it is going to happen!

Jerry, would you be willing to share what info you are getting? I am also interested in doing a bowfishing trip featuring wing-shooting at flying carp with my clan .

I would love to shoot those flying carp, but there are not any within several states of me!

I will be bringing the Mothership along. She is my all LED bowfishing rig.  We want to shoot both day and night.  I will be very happy to share any info.   We are looking at late June after I return from my bear camp.

I live in peoria and there are Asian carp all over the place.  Doesn't take much to shoot them.  They're in the illinois river and a few of the lakes by the river because of flooding.  If you have a boat you are good to go.

Wabash river Indiana. We shoot the Asians all the time but I think the Illinois river would be a better "trip spot" for your boat. The river and spots we shoot Asians you won't be able to run that boat anyway. You'll need a jet.

wabash river above terre haute in. the vid is, i think, from around montezuma. dnr ramps there, terre haute and tecumseh. method to hunt them is to angle motor up so speed is slow, and noise/vibration sets them off.

It hurts when you get hit by them and they can cause injuries if your speed is too fast. They are a curse on the waterways. They wipe out all other game fish from the bottom up.  Not only are they not protected in my state, it is illegal to return them to the water.  It would be a blast to try to take them with bow fishing equipment while they are airborne but I would think very difficult since they aren't in the air very long.

Bisch,
i would have to disagree with you.  There are plenty here in LA, just not quite like they are up north.  I have been hit in the chest, caught them, had them land in the boat tons of times.  

Also shot quite a few bow fishing, but we typically end up shooting them  at night under alight and they will jump when the light hits them.  pretty fun!

I've been blasted by Asians several times! They do sometimes get some sweet air time tho.
