2015 Elk Near Craig/Yampa Co. ?

Have been to Colorado elk hunting several times, in the past, and this season my partner and i are heading back to give it a go again. Early season, Sept. 1st- 15th.
Have hunted Routt Natl Forest, and Zirkel Wilderness in the past. Hahns' Peak also.
Anybody in the area that has some additional insight as to hot zones, or early season strategies...trailheads will be crowded as usual. Gonna have camp set up, back in 4-5 miles from given trailhead. Wallows and waterholes will be the early season focus.
