Need Comparison Between: Toelke Whip HS & Classic Whip HS?

I have a couple Whips and love the thumb rest of the Whip. Other than that....Are these two bows the same except for handle shape & leather grip? Do they shoot/feel the same?

I've owned. Both and found that they shot exactly the same for me. I went to the classic grip because I had other makes and wanted them to be closer to the same. I could shoot either one and now that I have only Toelke bows it would be even easier. However, I've come to love and prefer the leather wrapped classic grip.

Same shooting characteristics. I actually think the standard Toelke and classic feel the same with the leather being the only real difference.

I have owned both, and found them to be the same in every way except for the thumb rest. I do however prefer the classic grip.

Jeff,
I have owned both. I currently own a Classic. They both shot and shoot great. My Classic is the HS and it is wrapped in beavertail.
I believe you would notice the difference in grips, I do anyhow.
I like the clean look of the Classic grip and like Mooseman most of my bows are thumb rest less.
Here are the two Dan just built for Lori and I. They are beautiful!

You can have best of both worlds and have Dan wrap your thumbrest grip in leather or beavertail. He's done it for me once before and done it on other bows per customer request. Love some Toelke bows. Outstanding folks and bows.

To your question, I believe if you check with Dan, you will find there is more difference between the two than the grip. That said, I have owned a number of both, currently a 64" Classic H.S. and they do shoot the same except the H.S. has a slight increase in speed. Frankly, all of Dan's bows pretty much shoot the same. They are smooth-drawing, dead stable and QUIET! As well mannered as bows come and beautifully crafted from beautiful woods to boot!

The standard thumbrest grip really allows for consistent hand placement. I was a classic grip guy until I tried the standard. Plus those beautiful inlays aren't covered with the standard.

Charlie,
Being old & now with back surgery, I need a light bow 35-38# to build back up (if that's possible)...but it never hurts to have another...Jeff

Jeff, I've owned both the standard Whip and the Classic Whip in 64" but neither had the HS limb design. My preference is the Whip. I too like the thumb rest but I'm also partial to John McCulloughs and Gregg Coffeys bows for that very reason. The standard Bowbolt Whip that I still have is the one you shot in LaTuque. I'm sure Dan could answer your question. Great guy to talk to and work with.
