What I am doing, going, time of year matter, but a sturdy sharp knife, cord, flash light, whistle, mirror, first aid.   :dunno:  Good one.

It's about the only thing I would head back to the house for if forgotten.

Stickbows and spittin' kinda go together.

Had to Google Thermacel!  Guess if it were essential for me I'd have heard of it.  TP jumps out, but these days it's a light weight chair that can fasten to the daypack.  Got one leg that demands a frequent rest.  Without it I can't go long enough or far enough to need the TP.  LOL

Gerber folding saw..... every Summit Viper climber we own has extra pull rope and this saw in the side pouch. Also in my older years I carry the binocs more now once the leaves fall off.

Other than the Obvious, TP, Knife, etc. Mine would be my Folding "Hunting Chair"!! For a Gimpy critter like me, I gots to sit down now and again. I dont remember where or exactly when I bought it, but it has a Folding Back and a Pocket for storage with a Zipper underneath. The pocket is Waterproof and a fine place to carry My Lunch or My Camera!!

My favorite item is paper towels I tear off and fold square. Can be used for TP (done that ) wipe bald head , clean hands. Trail markers and a few more things I can not remember. Next would be moist towelettes. These items go with me to the woods, desert, archery range.

Which ESEE?

For me, my fav accessory has probably been my cheap little hand pruner.  Man, that thing has been handy.

My primary knife is a Becker BK11 - right up there with the ESEE stuff.   :)

Puffer, water, TP and very important is a first aid kit. It could save your life if you got cut bad.

Thermos, cause I don,t function too well for too long without coffee, and I seem to have a revolver with me about 97% of the time..

Orion

String wind indicators on my bow and arrow.  Binos, of course.  Wouldn't leave home without them.  When it gets cold, a wool muff.

Horne Shooter

A good knife, puffer bottle, wet wipes, bandana, nylon cord, binos, compass.  It all fits in a small fanny pack that I pick up with my bow and quiver for half day hunts.  If I'm staying all day, the list gets longer and the pack gets bigger!

If the hunting is slow, a camera can provide great entertainment. I see too many hero pics of a dead critter in the back of a pickup which is not fair to the critter. Since I am solo 99% of the time I am hunting, I bring along a small tripod on the off chance that I kill something and want to get a pic on the scene. I enjoy watching all wildlife, and from time to time I get a decent picture.
Binocs are a close second. I try not to go to the woods without either.
