Our thoughts and prayers our with family and friends

It is tough to lose anyone but someone as young as Larry who was in the prime of life seems much harder. Condolences to all family and friends.
Time spent alone in the woods puts you closer to God.

Sad news for sure.  I hope his loved ones can find comfort in the knowledge that he is no longer tormented by "the bastard".
But be sure you live out the message and do not merely listen to it and so deceive yourself - James 1:22

Back in the mid-90's TBM had a subscription contest. Whoever sold the most subscriptions got to hunt with the entire staff of TBM, with Gene and I doing the guiding on the Cottonwood Whitetails Outfit in eastern Montana. It was won by Cory Mattson from N.C. Early the very first day Larry filled his tag. As I walked up to him and his buck he had a smile on his face and said, "I'm out." I started to give him some jovial static about not waiting for a bigger buck when he cut me short with a grin saying, "Hey.. this is the one I wanted." It was right then I knew what kind of man he was. He wasn't there for any kind of show. He was there for the fun of the hunt with good friends. Size didn't matter. Rest in peace my friend. Prayers to all his family with love and thanks. bw aka ub

Even though I did not know Larry, he was clearly one of the people that has given his heart, soul, imagination, and passion to the sport/lifestyle/hobby/way of life that all of us have chosen to follow.  Without him and his efforts to make Traditional Bowhunter an icon and a touch stone in our lives, we would have been all the poorer.
I am sorry to know that he went before he was due.

My deepest sympathies to his family and to Mr. Conrad's family. Cancer took my father and mother..I hate it. TBM (and through Larry's writings)has been my friend since the first issue. You will always have my respect, rest in peace.

Was out of town until this morning. Sad to hear of the lost battle. Been using purple serving on all my strings in his honor. My condolences to his family. He will be missed.

Sad, I had no idea.  My family stayed at his cabin once, it was a PBS donation.

Only met him that one weekend but his 1st impression was stellar.  My family has great memories of that cabin and that trip as well.

God bless his family.

Larry was the cook on our PBS youth hunt he did an outstanding job, and we flung some arrows together. A fine person indeed.
My condolences to the family and friends.
