I have a few of the Longhunter style shirts Ron has sold in the past. That extra bit of length is a pretty nice feature. It does 2 things for me....it provides a bit of warmth on my lower body, especially when siting in a tree. It also completely covers the belt line. Having that layer of quiet wool covering your belt line helps keep things quiet when moving. With a short cut jacket, everything on your pants belt is exposed...your knife, cell phone, whatever.

I was recently trying to sneak out to my stand while carrying my wool pullover (it was a little warm). I had a wool shirt tucked into my moleskin pants. Every step I took, my side quiver "clicked" against something. I solved it by quickly adjusting my GFA to ride higher, but it was something I hadn't noticed before because my long wool pullovers had guarded against that  noise.

I think Ron's Longhunter design is VERY practical.

 And I like the Asbell hood size, especially for taking a nap in the woods.

Todd, I'd sleep with one eye open if I were you. There's a big hairy creature skulking around in the woods and I hear tell he loves the taste of wool plaid but he doesn't like the taste of wool in solid colors..

hahahahahaha!!  Ron you are the man!!  Thank you Sir!!  I will make the switch to solid colors at once.

That wool is great unless you are hunting in trinity co ca its warm with light rain and you are a mile down in the canyon someware you will be ditching that coat lol
