I was watching a hunting show today and they said they were going to stalk a bear in Alaska. They ended up taking a boat down the river and shooting it at 200 yards!!! You need to show these guys what stalking really is. Great job and congrats!

Thanks for all the kind words. I practiced on a cardboard cut out all year. My wife just quite asking what I was doing, she new it had to do with shooting a bear. I'd come home from work give everybody their hugs and kisses and grab the bow and start shooting. The hunt was a lot of fun. A lot of bears. I had stalked a few but they would hear me or smell me and run off. On this stalk everthing was just perfect. The wind was right and he was busy eating fish on the edge of a creek. On my first approach I got to about 25 yards to him but his head was facing me and he was quartering away. So I back tracked and moved to the right and back up again and got a full broad side shot. Like I posted earler, my first shot was a little high and hit him behind the shoulder and in the spine. He couldn't run off but he draged himself across the creek and into heavey brush. He was bawling like crazy. My second arrow missed and hit a branch. It was the 3rd arrow that did the trick. I did shoot a forth but  missed. It was a very exciting time for sure. I also have it on video, thats awesome. If I can figure how to do it, I'll post the clip. After I reveiwed the video I realized that my shot was not that far off. His head was down and crouched a little bit so I thing that put his spine just a little lower plus with all the fur its a little deceiving. looking forward to next year. Thanks again everyone.
