Just got off the phone with JD. Now the wait begins.   :archer2:

The road to "Sherwood" makes for an awesome journey.

Get used to always waiting!  James bows are worse than Lay's potato chips!

Just plan on something like this....
James: Hey Rob, you lucky dumb &$%#, you're next again.
Me: James, what woods are you gonna use in my ________?
James: I've got something special in mind this go 'round.  I'm thinking___________......
Me: Sounds great, and next time you're around that dang book of yours, put my name back on the list again would ya?  Oh, and did you hear the one about the........

Everyone, I'm so flipp'in confused now. I don't know which model to choose. Thanks to all your beautiful pictures of these Berry bow, I'm at a loss. Here are my must-have options. Please help me focus in the best model. I want R/D design (not a Hill Style longbow), with low hand shock. I want a locator style grip. Does Mr. Berry make red elm limb cores?

Thanks to everyone for feeding my future addition!   :notworthy:

MJB,
Looks like you have begun/continued this addiction. I haven't ordered mine, so there is still help. LOL. Forget all that, I'm jumping in with both feet. BTW: what is the wait time on one of these beauties?

Green

I'm going to let Brian answer you on this one LBf1, you're right up his alley with those questions.

Okay, Rob! I'm holding my breath!

Brianlocal3

You just made my day asking about the red elm cores!!!!!!!!! You will know why I'm so floored when you talk to James, and he WILL blame me lol

Yes he does, but you have to twist it out of him. My vixen, Misty dawn, and Morningstar are all red elm.  My taipan has red elm also.

He is only building the Argos and Taipan duo-flex (r/d) models as far as duo-flex goes.

The Argos is a sweet sweet shooter and very quick, stable, quiet. It is the standard riser and the classic look.

The taipan is his reverse model, also quick , stable , and very quiet.

My taipan is my most accurate shooter for me, and I literally have not found an arrow it won't shoot at my house . Everything from 40-70 spine. My other bows tune easy and shoot great but the taipan just eats all arrows. It is also extremely point able and falls on target  by itself it seems.

The taipan is what I'll be shooting in the Worlds.

James does locator, but he makes his grips narrow and the locators are minimal SO make sure your clear on what your wanting for sure. Personally I love the grips he puts on.

Maybe I shouldn't tell about the little bug on the limb........ it's a cricket which is suppose to bring you good luck.

Brianlocal3

Oh and I'll say it , red elm cores are the best cores in all of archery

After that last comment you may want to tell James you don't like me, it will keep you on his good side LOL

Okay Dennis, there you have it.  Straight from the bamboo hatin' horse's mouth.  If James sees this thread.....his response may get it locked down!

It's not my fault the Texas heat has fried your noggin so much that you can not see obvious truths, like red elm is far superior to the grass clippings you call a core wood  :)

Dennis - I sure hope you're on the phone getting in line while Brian and I take this to text so as not to clutter up the internet with his flawed thinking.     :D
