Well, I ordered this bow about a year ago from well known Austrailian bowyer Mark Kimber and he emailed me and said it was done and would be in the mail this week. Can not wait, been wanting to try one of these for a while now. I will post pictures once she arrives, 62",Macasser ebony with African Blackwood riser, macasser limb laminations, 56#@28". My aussie friends rave about these bows.

John from Tusker shoots his bows.  By all accounts excellent bows, you should have a shooter on your hands.

I picked up a huntsman on the weekend only problem is the riser is cracked but for $20 bucks I couldent say no but it's only 45# so I should be Abel to fix it or build a new riser and make a warf or some thing

Very cool looking bows.  Mark Kimber was awesome in helping me thru email communication on building my "toothbrush" arrow-rest.  Danny would like to hear your impressions of this one once you get some arrows thru it.

Good looking bows, proven design.  I like his brush rest build along video, looks pretty bomb proof.
I'll be watching for pictures when you get it.

Well it got here yesterday and she is a beauty, smooth drawing and hard hitting. Shoots very well for me and likes my AD Trads.

Its beautiful!  I love his tip design.  Love the woods of course:)  Why did u get a 62"?  Just curious.

Danny Rowan

Keith,

I do not think he offers anything except 62" or 64" but could be wrong, his website does not say. But, a 62" is what I went with because I had never shot one and I like that length recurve when I get a bow I have never owned or shot.

Hi Danny

I ask this question seriously and am not trying to be a smart***!

I live in Australia and would not consider buying a bow made here.  I have never seen any of Mark's bows - and with all due respect to him - he sounds like the exception to the rule (meaning his bows look great), but the rest of them are pretty ordinary, and nothing like the choice that is offering in the States.  We down under really envy the huge range of quality bows that you have to choose from in your own back yard.

We were robbed over Christmas and all of my archery gear and bow (along with everything else), was cleaned out.  I am trying to source a new bow right now (Pittsley Predator Impact, or custom), and it is a right pain in the bum trying to do it from so far away.  I still can't find a Pittsley yet, but I am sure if I lived in the States I would be able to.  We have to deal with customs, the tyranny of distance, information lost in translation, and exchange rate etc.  It must be so marvelous for you guys over yonder.

What possessed you to order a bow from Australia when you have just so many choices in your own back yard???

One hour of life, crowded to the full with glorious action .... is worth whole years of those mean observances of paltry decorum, in which men steal through existence, like sluggish waters through a marsh, without either honor or observation

I think it is just bow-addiction, a virus we all suffer from and we don't wanna be healed!   :)  ))))
I live in The Netherlands and import lots of stuff  from the US, amongst which bows. I don't face to many problems, except for the excessively high import duties.... I found out that the good people, from which most are sponsors here, do the utmost to help you. For me, there is not much difference whether I order in the US or whatever country. It just lasts a little longer till it is here, and I have to pay those import duties, but that is about it.
BTW: very nice bow Danny, congrats!    :wavey:
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that string! [/i]
