Hey guys....I took the stock grip and rest off my new bear montana to install the sur grip I picked up. What is the best thing to get the sticky mess off the bow that was under the old grip without harming the bow?

I use Goof Off to remove glue residue, doesn't harm the finish.

some peanut butter on a rag..I've used it to remove the most stubborn glue residue

**DONOTDELETE**

One of the safest solvents you can use on most anything is charchol briquet fluid. denatured alcohl is pretty good too.

Never heard of peanut butter.   :biglaugh:   .. Good scent for pig hunting eh?

Stumpkiller

For gummy adhesive I use Ronstan lighter fluid to remove it.  Won't harm most finishes (test a spot first).

If you have any charcoal lighter fluid -- it is the best thing I have tried to remove glue residue.

I used alcohol on mine, but the peanut butter trick would be worth a shot.

+1 on the WD-40.  All of these work.  It really cones down to what you have on hand.

Use Goo-Gone or similar product. Acetone products may harm the finish.

Tater

Goo-gone or WD-40, goo-gone is citrus base and the wd-40 is fish oil base neither will harm the finish.
