I know it has been a tough winter for much of the country, my home included. But, I am fortunate that I am spending some time in the Sonoran desert, which has enjoyed great weather. This morning, I took the camera along on one of my daily stump shoots.
Here is a typical scene from where I am:

Everything here will bite or stick you; this is what a sagauro looks like up close.

Uniform of the day down here is shorts and tee shirt, but watch where you step. If it isn't some kind of cactus, the warm weather have brought the snakes out early.

A challenge here while stumping is finding a target that won't destroy your arrows. Prickly pears are a good choice.

The desert critters leave some holes that become target possibilities, too.

You folks who are stuck in the snow belt, get up close to your computer and warm up with this pic.

Very nice. I some times miss the western deserts. Right now the snow is up to my nards.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

There is a place for all God's creatures....right next to the potatoes and gravy.

Nice.  No stumping here.  I plan on heading out and packing a path to my target with snowshoes in a few.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Man, that looks good after the winter we've had in most of the country!

Looks like a cool place to romp around . Good pictures. Looks like a good spot to call coyotes in. Pretty place and that's a pretty bow.

It's snowing out right now......I'm jealous!!

Looks amazing.  Making us all jealous for sure!    :)     Although we are currently enjoying sunny skies and 70, so I can't complain.  But... I'm stuck behind a desk right now so I'm still jealous!
Have fun!

beautiful!   i love shooting the barrel cactus down there. great targets.  and a javalina tag can help find something to shoot at as well.
is it September yet??

I just came back from 6 weeks in that country,  but I wish we were still there.  Already looking forward to seeing it again next year.

Great pics!  I've got some from my trip that I can add as well if you like.

Pat, that kind of made me homesick for the SW.  wife and I had to take two years off so she can work for health insurance.  Can't wait to get back out there only I would stump for arrow heads.  Love looking for arrow heads on the desert.  thanks for a look at good weather.  We are at 120 inches of snow so far.

Post away Joe, love to look at the SW photo's

Oooo, here piggy piggy!  I love chasing those little critters.  Our trip was really more of a winter getaway than it was a hunting trip, but I did manage to get after them some.  Ended up with two shots, and both of them were jussstt a little low!   :banghead:

I don't have any javi pics - can't operate the camera and the bow at the same time.  But I'll get some scenery pictures up
