Many of you know Scott Sanders on TG that goes by "Friend". Scott has a unique way of wording things that just blows me away. 1/2 the time I read it I have to go back and read it again to fully understand.

I recently entered the Michigan Longbow Association's annual Arrow Contest, and I did an OK job of building them, but I was looking for the way to describe how much work went into them. Well, up step "Friend". I asked Scott if he would be interested in helping me out with using the correct words. You see, being in construction, we kinda have our own language, and spelling and punctuation are not a big part of it.

Scott accepted the offer, and I believe he did a better job wording the description than I did building the arrow.

I wanted to publicly say thank you to Scott and see if there is anybody else on here that is happy to see "Friend" post something new, just to see what he wrote.

I really wish Scott was one of my Drill Sargents. It would have been my please to take an a$$ chewing from him.

So, is there anybody else who is as pleased as I am with Scott's eloquent way of writing???

I do appreciate the way friend responds...to the point. Second those arrows look like death or at least like they bring death. I really like them.good job

I've enjoyed my conversations with Scott on this board over the years, and would like to meet him in person one of these days.

He and Killdeer both have a way with words. Always a pleasure to see either one contribute to the conversation.

I on the other hand am like you Mike. Working construction for 30 yrs. will give one an appreciation of the rougher use of the Queen's English!!

Beautiful arrows like always. I hope you were given the credit You deserved.

I bought those arrows at the MLA banquet just to have that description card for my very own!

Friend has such an extensive vocabulary and talent for using those words, that I'm often reminded of a scene from "Blazing Saddles" where Slim Pickens comments on Harvey Corman's gift for words. (This is a family friendly forum, so I won't give the exact quote. lol)

Those arrows are some of the coolest I have ever seen!!!! Spectacular! Your arrows and his words are equally deserving of each other, and that match was one made in trad archery heaven!

Scott is awesome. I, too, appreciate his skills with the written word. Still, he's a humble gentleman in every way. I had the pleasure of shooting the "smoker round" with Scott at the KY Tradfest last year in Harrodsburg, KY and we had a great time.

I do! Always enjoy reading his responses. Over and over and over. Till my pea sized brain finally gets it. Now I am by no means an idiot. But man that guy sure has a way with words. And NEVER has anything negative to say!

I too am a fan of Scott and his use of the English language.
I had the pleasure of shooting with him a while back as I was traveling for work. He was very kind in bringing his own bows , arrows ,glove , quiver, and arm guard so that I could shoot as my equipment was back home.
I look forward to shooting with him again.
I also shot with Mike (shed hunter) and his daughter that day and it was a blast .
