Steve O

You might want to have a bunch of those FireKnives at Kalamazoo...and I'd prefer mine in one of the HI visibility colors. I have a bad habit of putting my knife down and losing track of it.

MCNSC

On the sheaths, do they have a closed " belt loop" or can you slide it down over a belt?
Thanks!

The fire knife and the Clipper have a clip-on loop.
Some of the others have a closed loop.

I plan to have more Steve, see you there.

Thanks, I like the clip on loop style. Dont have to have a belt. Can hook it to your pants, safety harness or pack strap.

They are handy that way Mike. I will most often have my pocket knife for GP use and my hunting blade stays in my pack. When I am really hunting(big country, not setting in a fence row), I will carry my hunting blade on my belt.
Thanks for the question.

Got the PM that the filet knife is shipping to me Chuck, Thanks ! Was it the 150 or the 155 model ? I do not really care cause I am going to probably buy the other model too so that I have both.

Cannot wait to put this thing on my KME and use my brand new CBN honing oil and leather strop. I am going to put a mirror finish on the edge of this thing and see how many crappie it will filet before needing a resharp.....  :readit:

It is the 155 Jimmy. That thing is plenty sharp right now. You KME and the new stone should just scare the skin of them crappie.
Thank you again.

Thanks Chuck ! If you decide to stock the 150's or need to add 1 more knife to an order go ahead and order a 150 filet knife and I will take it too bud. I like the looks of the 150 with the wider tip on it. Bet others might as well. Probably would use it as a all around kitchen knife and filet duties. Bet the wife will like the non slip handle and it would probably be a good pineapple knife, those things can be tough. Also very hard to cut sweet potatoes and Winter squash.

Just got my fireknife in the mail from Chuck today!  Couldn't ask for a better product or a better person to deal with!  Happy New year to you and your family Chuck!  I will be watching your site for one of those wool camo coup cap and maybe another fireknife for my daughter!
My daughter and I are hoping to make the Compton shoot this year and if so we will definitely look you up!

2treks

Thanks for letting me know that it showed up Chris. Always a pleasure to hear from you, and please do say hello if you guys make the trip to Comptons.

Jimmy, I get a few guys interested in the fish knives as well so I hope to start stocking several different styles.

I have worked with my distributor to make ordering a little easier, so now I can place a little smaller orders. This makes it easier for me to get a special order knife in a timely fashion.
If any you tradgangers are interested in any knife, Mora or otherwise, please shoot me a PM and we will see what we can do for you.

Thanks again to everybody

I just got in another order of knives, and listed them to the site.

I wanted to take a minute to offer to order in, just about ANY knife that you may want/need.
I choose to carry The Mora Brand in stock, but I can get most any brand or style of knife made.
If you have a knife that you would like me to price out for you, just shoot me an email with what you want and I will get you a price.
I order once each week and can have your knife to you in a week to ten days.

I also plan to add additional knife brands and models as well as Flashlights and some other tools that we bowhunters like to carry.
thanks all.

I got a clipper for my daughter from chuck last week to carry hiking and camping and of course I had to get one for myself (can't have to many knives). Haven't had a chance to try it out but it looks like a good knife for the price! Great service also

Dan Adair

How thick is the blade on the Triflex?  1/8" like the Bushcraft, or 1/16th like pretty much all the other Mora's?

2treks

Dan, I don't have a mic right handy but with my machinist steel rule and my eye it is just under 1/8" thick(I think I mic'd it before at about .100).
It is a very solid knife.
Thanks for the question.

Chuck has me a Model 150 fillet knife headed my way now. It will be the sister to the Model 155 I got a few weeks back. I want to see how the 150's stiffer spine and wider tip works on fish as well as deer. I am betting the 150 may become a kitchen drawer knife used everyday for just about everything in the kitchen too.

So far the 155 is holding up very well and holds a good edge. When it gets a tad bit duller I am going to have a go at it with my KME and go thru coarse diamond, med arkansas, fine arkansas , then the new leather strop and CBN honing oil I got from Ron @ KME. I have already used the leather and CBN oil on a Buck pocket knife and all I can say is........  :scared:

The patch on my arm is still pretty naked of hair and that was weeks ago. I am sure I can get the same edge on the Moras from Chuck. That Sandvik steel is awesome for the $$$.

Thanks for the feed back Jimmy. I have been getting a lot of requests for the Mora Fillet knives. It is good to here that they work like the other Mora hunting knives. The 150 will make a great game processing knife I think. I always have a "fillet" knife at hand when cutting deer. I like the way they work for me.

Fillet knife makes short work of the silverskin on the backstraps.... Simply lay the whole backstrap skin side down on the cutting board first. Then cut your slices as thick as desired cutting down to the skin / board but do not cut all the way thru. Then take a razor sharp fillet knife and cut the silverskin off in one swipe along the bottom. If the meat is good and cold the better. Firm meat is easier and neater to cut

Okay, been using the Mora 150 filet knife on some fish and in the kitchen for a few days.... On bigger fish or used as a boning knife it is the bomb ! On smaller fish we will stick with the More Model 155 with more flexible blade and thinner tip / point. May buy a few more of the 150's for the kitchen later on. The 150 made short work of a Pineapple and Butternut Squash the other day and both of those are pretty tough to cut with a lesser knife. Great knives for the $$$ and that Sandvik steel is awesome.....  :campfire:
