Originally from Charles City.  Now live just north of  Cedar Rapids.
There's only 7 days in a week. Someday is not one of them.

Anyone up there in Iowa know any Lappes? That's where my son-in-law is from. Don't remember the exact town right off.

It's a cold morning here in Waverly.

For you Sioux City guys, I wish my son, Cody, was still shooting with you boys. He enjoyed having some fun guys to shoot with. He is way out at Milwaukee now. I saw a large group of deer on the north edge of Hinton coming home from Jensen's yesterday just before sundown. Two were really nice looking bucks.

I'd like to be, but I can't get Uncle Barry to adopt me

Rural Warren County for me. Always hunt local but looking outside the county this season.  My heard has been decimated by EHD.  I have not had a deer in range all season.
How is everyone else doing?

I killed an nice, big doe early in the season, but it's been pretty lean since then. I've had some small bucks in range, but since my freezer is full, I'm being picky. Too much corn in the field around here. I don't blame the deer. They can stuff themselves with good, high calorie food, have sex, and sleep all in the relative safety of a 300 acre corn field. Life is good, if you are a deer in Jackson County.

Good luck, Katie. Hope you can fill your tag.

I took a doe the first time i was out, and haven't had another shot yet. Deer numbers are down, and I have yet to see a mature buck this year. From what i've heard from other hunters in the area, mature buck numbers are way down in my area.

Wish there was a trad club in my area, i'd love to get some of my wheelie bow loving friends into it. Went to some group shoots this summer and I was the only trad guy there.

From Desmoines area. Hunt Warren county area. Took two does one day and passed on a 12point and several baskets and forks. Noticed a decline in does the last two years but have seen more bucks this year.
