Very nice my friend.  Very nice indeed.  I enjoy your posts very much.

Yes.  And Ron LaClair nailed it in his response.  (Or maybe I'm just in my Jeremiah Johnson mode right now; seem to try to watch it right before deer season each year).

SHININ TIMES they are and brighter every year. Age is the biggest double edged sword i know. i am fearful of growing old yet i yearn for the knowledge that only comes with age. i feel i have learned more about myself and life in the last 2 years as i have slowed down and took the time to look around more, contemplate things and in general just soak up all i can every time i'm in the woods. thank you all for the kind words, i feel very much at home here with you, my brothers and sisters.

You did a wondeful job of putting feelings we all have into words  I hope you have a great season.

I yearn for the knowledge that comes with age. And I bet there are a few ninety-year-olds could use it, too! You CAN get old and still be a fool. It takes little or no effort.

I think that by tapping into the joy that is Creation, you are on the good road to a peaceful heart, which is an eternal treasure indeed. You will be no fool when it comes time to change planes (of existance.)

Killy,
your are %100, hit it on the head, right on. i was a bad kid, got worse as young adult and was on a road to nowhere. had much hate in my heart for many things and myself being number one. i had rage in me that was tearing me apart. to many ( most ) what changed my life will be unbeleieveable as it was a simple red tailed hawk feather. it opened my eyes, heart and soul. brother hawk showed me the way and when i started to believe a new world opened. yes, i now have a peaceful heart and it is a beautiful thing. i have MUCH to learn and i look forward to it and each lesson. i really wish you, Killy would post for often as i really enjoy your words and stories.

If I post all the time, I won't live and learn and have new stories to post. I guess I could make 'em up, but they would ring hollow after a while.

Thank goodness my leave was approved for November!  :bigsmyl:

allanburden

mountainmanken, as stated before you do have a poets soul.  I am in no way considered old(24) however, due to a bungled surgery to remove a kidney part of my remaining one was damaged.  I treat each season as if it were my last, because we just do not know.  I have been unable to loosen an arrow at an animal since my surgery 4 years ago, not for lack of chances but for enjoying the serenity and peace and the comraderie I feel with my prey.  Your words brought tears to my eyes and I wish you many more seasons of peace and tranquility in the wilderness you love.

thanks again to all but i know what i write is in many of us as i have become close to many of you, it is good to see the old ways have not died. i believe they are alive and well, just very hard to hear and see in this day and age. look with your heart, listen with your soul, believe in what you can not see, stay strong to your beliefs. a little blind mouse taught me that, true story!
