You'll notice the "luckiest" elk hunters have worn out boots.

In the end, it is not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. Abraham Lincoln.

:goldtooth:    Ol' Charlie is a sneaky devil. Thanks so much for the positive feedback. I got a big ol grin when I logged on to see you guys posts. Good to see old friends and new! It's been awhile.

If you guys don't recognize it that's a Sunbear bow built by Mr. Lamb. He builds one fine bow. The buck is my personal best with a bow. I see one or two each year that make me quiver and shake but they always seem to pass just beyond reach of anything other than my dreams. My hopes and dreams always seem to carry them into crisp early morning dew of the next deer season though. I do believe it's what keeps the fire kindled. I suppose everyone deserves to have a dream come true once in awhile. I certainly feel blessed to have solidified my dream this early season after watching so many wide racked dreams pass just beyond reach of even a high arcing arrow in the years gone by.

Statistics- Late evening hunt with a very strong North wind. 21-22 yard shot(call it luck) with a 60" 55#@27" Sunbear Longbow. AD Traditional Lite arrow front loaded 260 grain Sasquatch broadhead.

I do believe that Pop's still hunts along side me from time to time. I do miss the opportunity to revel in the glory of this moment, this year, with him more than ever. I raise my glass high and toast to you guys though. Keep the faith. Hunt hard. Don't dwell in the failures. Always do your best. Keep dreaming the dreams!!! The big buck may just be right behind the next tree. Thanks again for your posts. See ya'll in the woods.

BTW. I'm not getting gray.   :nono:    That's just old blond shining through.
